#13 Unveiling the icy Heart

CLARA POV

and there she was

my mate

AS i waved excitedly she hurried over, cradling a bouquet in her hands. The anticipation of our long-awaited reunion sent a thrill down my spine. we both rushed towards each other, the bouquet momentarily forgotten on a nearby bench. In an instant, we embraced tightly as we stumbled slightly from the intensity of our emotional exchange. I hugged her close, savouring every moment of our long-awaited connection which turned out to be a surprise from her.

We broke the hug and shared a momentarily grin before Annie exclaimed

"Surprise!!!"

I responded with an equally surprised expression "this was unexpected girllll, what are you doing here????"

"Well, I can say I somehow managed to fool my mother today lol, but hey let us go somewhere to hang out! I only have two hours" she beamed with excitement

I responded "and I have so much to tell you about how everyone reacted to the random fake 'couple' pics I put on my story these past few days"

"yesss...umm so you have friends here...?" Annie glanced over at Aiden and his friends who were already staring at us, a hint of confusion in her expression, as if trying to gauge their role in the scene

"Ugh them...right" i smiled awkwardly "that's Aiden and his friends"

"Wait! seriously?" she took a slight step back staring past my shoulder and i swirled around to see Noah approaching us, this social butterfly

Noah as always, nonchalantly introduced him and the two boys standing beside him awkwardly

"And that's Aiden" Noah finished and Annie stared at him for two seconds

"The squeaky grocery cart! hello!" she exclaims and now his two friends were giving him a questionable look.

"Quite a nickname" Issac spat out

Annie swirls to me "Anyway, lets head to the nearby cafe, the brew house!" she takes my hand ready to leave from here

Noah interjected a glint of excitement in his eyes 

"Actually, we were planning to go there too! Plus, I think it would be fun if we could all be friends" Isaac nodded in agreement adding a small smirk

"Yeah, why not? the more, the merrier right?" Issac spoke

Aiden and i just stared at each other for 2 seconds, as i mulled over the situation in my head a thought crossed my mind tinged with a hint of confusion, why are these guys trying so hard to be all buddy-buddy with us? Are we really that cool or are they just bored and looking for some new friends to mess around with? 

They were not being forceful; they were not harassing us or something, plus Annie was agreeing to that so i could not say no to them. i picked the bouquet and follow Annie

Annie and I made our way to the nearby cafe just a stone throw's away from our building once we stepped out of the society gate and turned left the cafe came into view as we walked Annie, and I kept a slight distance from the group of boys who were trailing behind us. the boys were engaged in their own conversation their boys occasionally carrying over to our ears. We reached the entrance of the cafe and burst opened the door the cool inviting atmosphere enveloping us as they stepped inside the smell of freshly brewed coffee and pastries wafted through the air and the sound of lively charter filled the room.

 The cool air of the air conditioning was refreshing, the cafe excluded a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere but soft charter and the clinking of dishes blending together in a soothing symphony and the sweet aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
