Aurelia held Willow close while standing before the entire tribe on the balcony.
It had only been a few hours since the dramatic situation unfolded, and word spread like a literal wildfire throughout the cavern. Those who witnessed the emergence of Willow's wings firsthand rained down from Ivalo and flew through every biome to announce the arrival of their Harbinger.
Like a flock of beautiful angels, Lunarians, young and old - toddler to elder - came out of their homes and flew straight for Ivalo en masse. This included Raize and Nyxie. They all had to squeeze onto the balcony just to catch a glimpse of Willow. Most of the men actually opted to remain airborne and hovered around the balcony in self-managed rows.
The power the baby girl radiated brought them to their knees or commanded them to lower their heads and put out the flames on their backs. One by one, the rows of Lunarian flames went out like candles snuffed out by a breath. The only source of light came from Willow's glowing wings and the small flame on her back.
The moment would forever be etched into the annals of history.
During this momentous occasion, Harkan accepted his fate and was secured by his own warriors. However, he had one last wish before he got dragged down to the cells.
He wished to see the Sacred Flame lit by the baby girl.
As foretold in legends, she's supposed to reforge the flame and usher in the new era.
His era.
The feat would normally require strength on par of an adult Lunarian. But if Willow was truly who she was, then she'd light it up without issue. This would not only prove who she was, but this ceremony would double as a Lunarian Name ceremony.
And so, Aurelia slowly approached the Sacred Flame's altar. It was built into the floor like a fire pit with a detailed golden grate.
The tribe watched her every move in anticipated silence.
She stopped short of the intricate mosaic tiling on the ground and kneeled. She took a deep breath and looked into Willow's eyes. The baby girl stared back with tired eyes; she was ready for a nap. Then Aura leaned down and planted a kiss on her forehead and whispered:
"Renatus ignis."
"Reborn from fire."
With that, she gently placed her onto the golden grate. Although she was three months old, her Lunarian genes made it possible for her to sit up. So she sat there for a few good seconds. . .
