Emma drove for another thirty minutes - or was it an hour? She couldn't tell anymore -, feeling like it's the longest drive of her life. She keeps her eyes on the road and the hand gripping the steering wheel, the only thing connecting her to reality and not allowing her mind to drift to the visions of Jason again. Despite her best attempt to stay positive and nice to Avi and keep the thoughts of Jason out of her mind, every so often that monstrous figure of Jason invades her head again just by looking at the dead bodies and remembering those monsters. She could feel her anger and panic flare up all over again. Plus, to cause more problems, the sun has set too. To put it shortly, she couldn't let her guard down, not even for a split second.

Meanwhile, Avi keeps glancing up at Emma from time to time and again turning his gaze away, without saying anything. Emma spends most of the ride without taking notice, but eventually catches up to the boy's antics.

"You need anything?"

Avi jolts up in surprise and he looks down and shakes his head

"N...N..No"

Emma nodded and kept her eyes on the road. The headlights of the car seemed like the only hope of them to catch any of the monsters In the way.

Then suddenly Avi looks outside through the windshield, observing the moon, red as blood, the only other colour in the dark void of space. Avi gets a little panic and the dark path, the trees and the thought of monsters scared him even more. He immediately turns on the lights In the car to seek comfort.

But, The sudden brightness snaps Emma out of her thoughts. She turns toward the kid, and her jaw drops when she sees that he had turned the lights on...

"What are you doing?"

"oh... t... t... t...turning on the light... I'm scared of the dark..."

Avi speaks In a nervous tone, looking at Emma with trembling eyes

"Right..." she replies with a sigh, her frustration growing even more as she tries to control it, not wanting to lash out on the kid again. But The kid is so incompetent and not helping at all. It seems as if he just couldn't understand it. Emma takes a deep breath, controlling her anger and says "Just keep the lights off."

"but I'm scared of the dark a.. a... and... and it's too dark outside, what If the monsters grab me-e? W... what will I... I.. do?"

The boy speaks with a stutter, expecting some sympathy. He looks at Emma but quickly hangs his head back down.

Emma sighs "It's hopeless" she murmurs. She just turns the car lights off.

"Do whatever you want, I don't care anymore but keep in mind that the light is gonna stay off."

Emma then stares ahead, her expression souring with annoyance.

"Please? I'm scared "

"Just shut up, kid"

Emma says cold heartedly

Avi looks down and shuts up. He looks at the bloody moon in the sky, the moon, as red as blood spilled on it and the rustling noise of leaves on the tree fills the ears

Emma drives on for a little while longer. She doesn't even have the energy to be frustrated anymore, she's just too tired. She just wants the drive to be over so she can get this over with and then go home and crawl into bed to forget what a long ass day this has been.

Eventually, she notices a sign up ahead, announcing a town just a few miles down the road.

Emma reads the sign and it was like a cold beer after doing drifts all day long in the light of the blazing sun. She drives forward towards the town.
