Today was my first day on the job at Rotation Records, the local record store. I met all of my coworkers with a smile, despite the fact that I still wasn't used to waking up that early.
There were six workers and two managers. I expected many more workers, but I think the less the better. It will be easy to talk to everyone.
The first person I talked to was a guy named Joey. He had bright blue eyes, which was the first thing that I noticed about him. He was constantly throwing out jokes and puns. His laugh was contagious. I've never heard such a thing. We had a brief conversation about a few things.
J: Hey, new kid! I'm Joey, Joey Graceffa!
C: Hi...uh, I'm Connor
J: Connor who? Hm?
C: Franta, Connor Franta
J: Wait really? I know exactly who you are!
C: No way! How?
J: You make YouTube videos, don't you?
C: Yeah! Wow, I'm surprised you watch them
J: They're really cool, I love your mindsetI never heard someone tell me this before. I was actually so happy he did. That small comment definitely made my day.
C: Ah, thank you so much! It means a lot
J: No proble....hey...Joey looks at his phone, which buzzed as if he received a text message
J: hey I, I have to go now...I'll talk to you soon.
He quickly scurried away, like something was seriously wrong. I am now wondering what it was exactly. Maybe I'll ask him when he seems more calm.

There was another girl working, far less approachable, and she seemed like she was quite similar to me in the sense that she didn't want to be talked to.
Her name was Jenn. She didn't mention the last name, and that's okay. I didn't think she wanted anyone to know.
She seemed very self conscious, and very sad. I wanted to ask, but she had her head bowed down and headphones in.
I'm not quite sure how she even got the job. She didn't even seem to want to talk to the managers. How is she supposed to help customers?
Regardless, she somehow was getting paid, and I still continued to wonder how. I gave up on caring though. All I was worried about was the fact that I FINALLY got a job like a normal person. Maybe I'll be appreciated and taken more seriously now.

Today was not too bad at all. Hopefully I don't get tired of this job as fast as I get tired of other things.
I am excited to learn more and more about music as well. It's always been something that intrigued me. If you can play a guitar or sing, you pretty much have my heart. The record store is pretty cool because they bring in special performers sometimes. I am always looking to listen to new, upcoming artists. My good friends, and honestly two of the only few GOOD friends I have here, Ricky Dillon and Trevor Moran make music and they're pretty great singers. I am so glad I can support them and watch them grow as people.

At the end of the day, I guess the best thing is to know that I did something good for myself. Self happiness is so important. Yeah, it wasn't before, but I am changing and I am so glad. I think this is a new start.
No, actually. I don't think it is, but I know.
