confusion

Today we had our first fight.

Tro called me on the phone asking about something that was posted on Instagram a week ago.

To be honest, I don't remember doing anything last week, I obviously did though.

I didn't know what to say so I was silent throughout the call.

He hung up on me.

My phone soon buzzed with a text that said "WHAT IS THIS?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" with an attachment of a screenshot.

Oh, it was a picture with Joey. Of course the caption was "Good times!" with a bunch of heart eye emojis.

This is exactly why I don't use emojis often.

Joey is like that, really happy and excited always. Maybe he was excited to see me or something, all I know is that I am not seeing him. Besides, Troye is definitely more of my type.

Worst thing is that Joey's boyfriend took the photo.

I immediately texted Troye back and told him what the photo was about.

C: Tro, it's a picture of one of my old coworkers and I. We took it at a party that we were both invited to. Casual.

T: DON'T CALL ME TRO. I HATE YOU CONNOR. WHY ARE YOU SEEING OTHER PEOPLE?!??

I didn't know what to reply because I knew he was just saying this in the spur of the moment.

I read the message and didn't reply.

A few minutes later I got another text from Troye.

T: ANSWER ME. I SAW YOU READ THAT MESSAGE. I NEED A REPLY. CONNOR I'M SO MAD AT YOU

Little did I know that I forgot to turn off my read receipts. I usually don't though, I have nothing to hide.

C: Listen Troye. Joey is gay, yes. Are we friends? Yes. Do we hang out? Yeah, sometimes. But this doesn't mean I'm dating him. In fact, Joey has a boyfriend. He took that picture.

I'm imagining his face reading that text. He probably feels stupid now.

T: Oh

Yeah exactly. That's what I thought.

C: Yeah, it's not that big of a deal. Sorry that scared you. Plus, you know I'm madly in love with you, right? Joey is literally no one compared to you.

T: I'm sorry.

C: I am too. I didn't know he posted that picture. I love you so much.

T: I love you too, so much.

C: Hey, do you want to hang out later? Or even now?

I tried to blow off the idea that the argument just happened. I want nothing bad between us. He's too important to me.

T: Now is GREAT actually. Do you want to meet somewhere?

C: I'll meet you, I just don't know when the bus is coming to the stop

Agh, I need a car. I am working on that.

T: Con!!! I'll pick you up, okay?

C: Okay, see you soon

I inserted a heart emoji. God I'm head over heels for this kid.

A half an hour later Troye arrived at my apartment and we went out. Only for ice cream but it was good.

We locked hands again and stared into each other's eyes.

We talked about life.

Everything we could.

How each other's day was.

Anything.

We didn't have much to talk about because we just texted, but his presence was all that was needed.

I say that a lot, sorry.

When I was with him, time stopped.

I was so happy.

He was so happy.

We were so happy.

Together.

We finished our ice cream and went back to his place and crashed on the couch.

We both laid with each other only in innocence. Nothing more.

When we woke up, he drove me home for the night.

T: Farewell.

THAT ACCENT STILL KILLED ME.

C: Until next time, my love.

T: True tha...t

He was crying.

I couldn't leave him like that.

I ran back to the car but he already was driving off.

I couldn't catch him.

What did I do wrong?

Did I hurt him?
