After the surgery Tae was unconscious in his hospital room. Jungkook was there, waiting for him to wake up.

Taehyung remained unconscious for a few hours. Soon after, he slowly started to wake up, groaning faintly as his eyes slowly flickered open.

Jk: Hi Hun. He caressed his hand gently.

Taehyung turned his head towards Jungkook, blinking a few times to clear away any lingering bits of sleep from his eyes. He remained silent for a few moments, as his mind started to process what had happened. It felt weird to only be able to see using one eye, but he still tried to remain stoic and composed, as he was trained to do.

Captain: Kim, loosen up that attitude of yours, you're with your family now.. I'm going back to the base. Oh and Jungkook, let me know if it gets better okay?

Jungkook: Sure, thank you Captain. Jungkook looked at him.

Taehyung nodded faintly, not even turning to look at the captain, as he was focused on Jungkook. He squeezed his hands softly, just so Jungkook could feel his presence. With his left eye, he could see his beloved was there... But with his right eye, he saw nothing. He didn't like this overwhelming sense of fear, but he was so weak that he squeezed Jungkook's hand again.

Jk: Hun. He kisses his forehead.

Taehyung's whole body relaxed with the kiss, his eyes tearing up a little bit.

Tae: I love you... So much.

He murmured, his voice still faint. He tightened the grip on Jungkook's hand, hoping his beloved could still sense his presence. In the back of his mind, he couldn't shake the image of darkness, it made his heart ache.

Jk: You're still the handsome man I love, even with one blind eye.

Taehyung smiled softly, tears coming to his eyes once again. He held Jungkook's hand tightly, not wanting to let go. He was still adjusting to having lost the ability to see from his right eye, but he was trying not to dwell too much on that fact. He was alive, and that's all that mattered.

Tae: Promise me My Love, that you'll always stay by my side, no matter what. He murmured softly.

Jk: I' II always stay by your side. I promise. He kisses his cheek.

Tae: I love you.

Taehyung murmured once more, his grip on Jungkook's hand tightening a little in affirmation. He looked up at Jungkook, his left eye shining with love. Now that he was fully awake, the reality of his new situation was starting to sink in. He was going to be blind on one side permanently, and the thought made him shiver. but as long as he had his beloved, he knew everything would be okay.

Jk: I love you too Hun.

Taehyung leaned his head back against the pillow, closing his eyes and allowing the darkness to take over. He sighed softly, still processing this major change in his life. He was still weak, having just woken up from surgery, but he would not allow himself to give in to the sadness that lingered in his heart. As long as he had Jungkook by his side, he could face anything.

Tae: I'm so tired Love. I just want to rest.

~.His family and friends returned home leaving Tae and Kook alone with the doctor.~

Jk: Doctor could I- ?

Doctor: You may. He interrupts him, knowing what he wanted to do.

As soon as the doctor said that, Jungkook got in bed next to Tae.
