Memories Back Then Pt.2

                  Jayson's POV

"Who the fuck has a Valentine's Day party?" I asked as I drank my Gatorade

"Dwayne" Jaylen laughed

"I'm not goin" I said as I shook my head

I don't do parties, everybody knows this

"What you got against a good party bro?" Jaylen laughed

"Nothing, just don't wanna go" I lied

"It's gonna be bad bitches there bro, you gotta come" Jaylen said matter of factly

"I'll think about it" I lied

I already made up my mind and the answer was no

"Just be ready by 9:30 man" he said before hanging up

I'd rather be home with my kid than walk around some dude's house for hours

I only met the man a couple times and we didn't even talk like that

Dwayne plays for the Charlotte hornets and I play for the Boston Celtics so I see him whenever we're both on the court but that's it

I didn't see the need to be at his house whatsoever

Seeing the dude at work was enough for me.

I yawned as my phone rang

I instantly answered once I seen it was my mom

"Hey" I smiled as I answered the phone and headed downstairs to watch TV

"Hey, I was wondering if I could take Deuce tomorrow? I wanna take him and Tori out" she said

"That's fine, he's at Tori's now. I'll let her know that I'm not picking him up"

"Cool, thanks son. Love you" she said

"Love you too ma" I said before hanging up

I just turned on the TV and found something to watch

I chuckled to myself seeing that Space jam was on

This movie was oddly enough my comfort movie and a trigger for me at the same time

It triggered me because it made me think about that night but it also brought me comfort because in some strange way it reminded me of Lola

No not the bunny..the girl I had met   years ago

It was right before I entered the draft actually

My homeboy at the time said his girlfriend was throwing a Halloween party and told me to slide through so I did

I didn't have a costume but I had a Kobe jersey which was good enough for me

"Jayson's in the houseeeee!" My homeboy Eric yelled as I walked in

"Wassup bro" I said as we did our handshake

He quickly introduced me to his girlfriend indya

Before actually meeting her I thought she didn't exist because he'd always talk about her but never had any pictures to show

She was dressed as a cop and he was dressed as prisoner

"My cousin and her friends just got here; I'm gonna go get them" she said before walking away

I didn't see her at all for the rest of the night

I assumed her cousin and friends weren't real and it was just an excuse she used because she just wanted to get away from us
