"Yes Pa, I've already sent you the list of what they're going to need for when they start their classes."

"Are you sure these are everything?" He could hear his Pa Pete's voice from the other side of his bathroom door.

He knew his Pa was fond of the two additional members of their family, well not officially but they are still treating the two boys as theirs already.

"Pa that's all they would be needing, if they ever require some extra we can always buy it for them." Venice turned off the shower and reached for a towel and proceeded to wipe himself dry before covering himself.

"How about their personal things?"

Venice almost rolled his eyes.

"I've already instructed Uncle Pol to go to Rain's old apartment to get his and Sky's things."

Venice had gotten Rain's address from the boy. He learned that Sky had been staying with Rain in his apartment, and Rain's parents were mostly absent which further explained why Rain wasn't reported as a missing person even when he was held captive for more than two months by the Pingmuangs. Adding to that was the constant life update of 'Rain' to his mother, it had been one of the Pingmuangs' men that did it to prevent any mishaps with Rain's disappearance.

Even now, Rain's parents never called the boy. Rain had looked sad which did things to Venice. He had wanted to hug the boy but stopped himself.

"It's okay Phi. I'm used to it by now. And they always give me what I want anyway." That was what Rain had said before smiling painfully to the older man.

'If only I could give you the love and care that you deserve... If you would allow me that is...' Venice thought as he looked at Rain's retreating back.

Now just a few days after their conversation and with Rain and Sky finally moving to Prapai's condo, Venice had discovered that Rain may be smart but he gets easily distracted which was why there they are, in Venice's personal space just upstairs of his father's garage, tutoring Rain for when they get back to class. To be fair, he had given Sky the same test as well and the other boy passed with flying colors.

So it only left Rain to be tutored, while Sky and Prapai went and started moving the two boy's things from the mansion.

It was late afternoon when they finished the tutoring, and Venice had finally taken Rain to Prapai's condo which would be their home.

"Where are they Phi? Why isn't Sky here?" Rain's eyes looked like he was starting to have a panic attack.

Venice tried reaching out to the boy but he flinched away and glared at him.

'What now?'

"You! Just tell me where Sky is already!"

"He's fine Nong, Prapai texted me and said they were getting their lunch outside." Venice explained calmly.

"Well- Well then tell me where they are! I'll go to Sky on my own." Rain said, looking worried.

"I told you he's safe with Prapai. And I think they're on their way back already." Venice tried to pacify but it was only met with more complaints.

Then the door opened, Sky came in followed closely by Prapai. Venice just looked at his cousin looking exasperated.

Everything was going as they had planned for the two boys, then it happened.

Rain and Sky got kidnapped.

Luckily, well as lucky as they were, Sky and Rain's shoes, all shoes, had trackers embedded into them.

When they got into the location all hell broke loose.

Rain kept on pulling his hand from Venice's vice grip of a hold. There's no doubt that it would bruise but Venice kept on pulling Rain. He knew he just had to get the boy out of that building then he could go back to Prapai if he's not right behind them already.

"Let me go! Sky's still in there!" Rain kept repeating the same thing but Venice didn't pay him any mind.

They were already walking mid way of the second flight of stairs when they heard it.

A loud bang, then followed by another. Venice stopped on his tracks, his grip loosened a bit which Rain took advantage of and ran back upstairs. Venice cursed before running after Rain.

Rain ran up the stairs fast, clearly running from the adrenalin and the fear he felt for his friend. Venice ran right behind the boy looking around for any signs of danger as they headed up to the room once more.

Once they were on the last step though, Venice saw it. He could feel himself going cold from the immediate realization of what he was seeing.

A small blinking red light, even without thinking Venice's instincts had him pulling Rain out of the way covering the younger from the impending impact.

They were sent back down the stairs, Venice held Rain tightly flipping them so he would receive the fall and shield Rain from it. Venice suppressed the urge to scream as he felt the burn from his side, and just focused on protecting the boy in his arms. His ears were ringing, he could only look at the now unconscious Rain in his arms before he fell unconscious as well.
