Side Story 8: Us

Venice stood behind Rain as the younger watched Prapai and Sky talk with one another.

It's already been a month since Prapai had woken up from his coma.

"What are you thinking?" Venice said as he wrapped his arms around Rain.

It's one of the developments in their relationship, Rain had been very receptive to Venice's touches. He would even lean into Venice's hold, be it when Venice places his hand on the small of Rain's back or when he holds out his hand to support Rain when he gets off Venice's bike or car.

True to his words, Venice had started pursuing Rain but never forcing Rain to accept him. It started with Venice taking Rain to Uni and picking him up after, then Venice would ask Rain if he would go to dinner with him, or if Rain had a particularly urgent assignment, he would help the younger man and tutor him.

Sky on the other hand would only be going back to Uni after one more week, the younger only agreed because Prapai had promised Sky that he's better and would even take Sky to and from school. Sky had protested at first but when his uncle Porsche explained that Prapai wouldn't be the one driving but one of the body guards, Sky relented.

Venice could still remember the night Prapai finally woke up from his coma.

When they got to Prapai's room, they saw the two close to each other and looking straight into each other's eyes..

His uncle Porsche cleared his throat which made them pull away from each other, Sky blushed while Prapai only looked around. When he met his eyes though he recognized that it's his real cousin that's inside now.

"As much as I want to let the two of you get all the time you want together, we still need to clear Pai from any issues." Porsche smiled at his son while he patted Sky on the head.

"Pa..." Prapai's voice sounded childish, but it came out so naturally that it didn't sound so out of place, even Venice didn't mind the tone his cousin was using.

"Once Doctor Shan clears you, we will leave you two to yourselves." This time it was his Uncle Kinn who spoke.

"Ai'Sky, you shouldn't be hugging P'Pai too tight, he's still injured." Rain said, obviously teasing his friend. Venice didn't even budge from where he was holding Rain when Prapai met his eyes.

"Don't tease Nong Sky too much Rain, I'm also hugging you you know..." Venice whispered in Rain's ear which made the other blush and pushed his face away.

Venice saw Prapai smiling at him which he returned with the slightest nod as if understanding his cousin's thoughts.

Rain was sitting with Venice inside his home office in the Compound when Pete came in.

"Nong Rain? Come with me please." Pete smiled gently at the boy.

"Uh, where are we going Khu- I mean, Pa Pete?" Rain couldn't help but blush at how he addressed the man.

"Just to the gardens. Porsche's waiting for us there with Nong Sky and Prapai." Pete already had Rain standing up as he pulled the boy from where he sat.

"Pa, we're talking-"

"Ah-Ah, no. You can come with us or not. I just need Nong anyway."

"It's okay Phi, you don't have to come with us I'll go back right afte-"

"Fine. I'll go with you." Venice said as he stood up as well taking Rain's other hand in his.

"That's right, Sky, it's nothing bad. I promise. Do you know where N'Rain is?" Rain could hear Porsche's voice as they got closer to them.
