A "friendly" afternoon

1985 july 15th Hawkins Indiana

Mike rushed downstairs.He was supposed to be at El and Will's house,but he was an hour late.He had successfully slept in.

The boy tied his shoelaces when he heard footsteps.He looked up to see his cousin.
-Where are you going?-Richie asked.
-To Will's why?-Mike answered.
-Cool, I'm coming with ya-Richie said nonchalantly.
-Why?-Mike looked kinda surprised.
-I live in this shithole now nerd, I have to make friends -He said."I have a chrus on your best friend" he added ,but he didn't say it out loud.Mike doesn't needs to know about it.

-Okay,but don't be mean!-Mike agreed.
-Okay just lets go you seems to be late-

Mike shook his head realizing the other boy was right.He rushed out, Richie followed behind.They got on their bikes and made their way to the Byers/Hopper house.

8 minutes later

They arrived mike knocked on the door.A middle-aged tall, men opened it.Richie assumed he's Will's dad.

-You're late Wheeler-he said as he crossed his arms and leaned on the doorframe.
-Yeah I know, can we come in?-Mike asked annoyed.
Hopper turned his gaze towards the boy next to Mike.
-Who is he?-Hopper asked ignoring Mike's question.
-Good morning sir!-Richie saluted-I'm this idiots one and only cousin Richie-Richie said proudly.Mike looked at him and rolled his eyes.
Hopper let out a laugh then let the boys in.

Mike walked down the hallway to el's room.
-3 inches!-Hopper yelled before Mike could open the door.
-Fine-said Mike then entered the room (letting the door stay open 3 inches).
Richie tore his gaze away and looked at Hopper.
-Which one is Will's room?-he asked.
Hopper pointed to the room across el's.
Richie nodded and then left.

He knocked on the door.
-Come in!-he heard Will's muffled voice.
The door cracked open and Will looked surprised.
-Hello Willy!-Richie said dragging the "o" out.
Will gave him a warm smile.
-Hi Rich!-he greeted.

Richie sat next to him on the bed.They talked for hours about everything Richie's friends,comics,video games and movies.Later Will put a random mixtape Jonathan made him on the radio.

They were sitting on the listening to the music.They sat close.Others would say too close.They knees were touching.Will nodded his head to the music and Richie just stared at him lovingly.

Will felt a pair of eyes on him.He turned to look at Richie and smirked.
-What?-he asked.

Richie couldn't stop himself he leaned in a gave him a soft kiss.Will was taken aback from his newfound friends kiss.Richie just now realized what he did he looked at Will scared of his reaction, but he shouldn't have to because a few seconds later Will leand in and pressed a short kiss on Richie's lips.The world stopped it felt like it was only them.Both boy's stomach was filled with butterflies.When They pulled away they both grinned and chuckled they almost kissed again their noses were touching, but somebody knocked on the door.They quickly separated before the door opened revealing Mike and El
-Hey guys!-El said her and Mike's lips were swollen, guess because of the long make out session.
-What're you doing?-Mike questioned the boys who's cheeks were as red as tomatoes.
-Nothing-Will answered too quickly,El noticed her brother's weird behavior but didn't say anything.
-Okay Richie we need to go! Your mom got the job by the way so.-Mike said and motioned Richie to stand up.So he did.
-Okay bye Willy see ya later! Bye Mike's girl-he said when exited the room, but not before he winked at Will.
-Bye guys!-Will said
The two boys left the house.Tonight both Will and Richie fall asleep smilingly thinking about the events that happened today.
