The situation was intense. Hawks was in no shape to fight, his wings were burnt off. And I could feel myself getting colder by the second. Dabi's flames continued to spew our way. My ice couldn't hold up. We were doomed.

"Give up already Eria! You've lost," Dabi snarled as he continued to fire flames in my direction. I gritted my teeth.

"Leave him alone! You've already rendered him quirkless!" I cried as I threw another blast of ice at the wall that was barely holding up. After one more blast of flame, the ice wall melted. I weakly threw another blast of ice and Dabi dodged it. He kicked me to the ground and I lay face to face next to Hawks. We both looked up as he held up his fist to us.

"See ya," He said as he prepared to fire the blast.

"At the end of the day, your deaths mean nothing!"

"Hawks!" A voice cried. I looked up to see a bird-like human fly towards us, carrying a shadow with him. He kicked Dabi away, preventing him from firing more flames at us. The shadow looked down at us.

"Got em," It said as he looked at us.

"Whose the girl?" The shadow asked. The bird looked at me.

"I think that's Eria from class 3-A, a newer member of the big three," He said. I nodded. The shadow grabbed us, laying a cape over us extinguishing the rest of Hawks' flames.

"It's bad Fumikage," It said as it turned to him.

"How bad?" He asked.

"His back is a nightmare! His wings, they're gone!" It said. Fumikage grunted.

"You're a UA rookie, you must be joking. They dragged students out here to fill their ranks?" Dabi asked annoyed.

"Well, take a good look here. Your pal here killed Twice. Stabbed him in the back with one of those big feathers. And your classmate here was working for me the whole time," Dabi said as he gestured to Twice. Fumikage stared at Dabi in shock.

"Twice was just trying to save his friends. Well? What are you here to do?" Dabi asked.

"Come to rescue them?" He asked as a loud bang could be heard from behind him.

"You still think that's the right thing?" He asked.

"Don't listen to him," I groaned in pain.

"These pros you admire play dirtier than me. Better learn that now before you waste your life worshipping them,"

"Tokoyami," Hawks groaned weakly. Tokoyami wrapped his hands around Hawks, embracing him. His shadow curved around me, preparing to defend us.

"Villain. I'm only concerned about my mentor and classmate," He said defiantly.

"You're brainwashed," Dabi said tilting his head, a crazed smile painted his face. Suddenly, he threw a blast of flames in our direction. Tokoyami quickly picked Hawks up with his hands and me up with his shadow, dodging the attack.

"Sorry Fumikage," The shadow croaked.

"He's still running his mouth," Hawks whispered.

"Think about it ya barbecued freaks. Who do ya think really needs rescuing? Because it's not you," Dabi said.

"Your orders?" Tokoyami asked Hawks.

"We go. Now," Hawks whispered.

"Dark shadow!" Tokoyami shouted as he threw his shadow forward. He grabbed my hand as the shadow attacked.

"Eria, are you able to help?" He asked. I nodded.

"I can try and block him off with my ice, but I'm not sure how I can escape,"

"Don't worry, I can take you too," He said. I nodded.

"Thank you," I whispered. I threw a blast of ice as Tokoyami grabbed both Hawks and me and jumped over the ledge.

"Brace yourself!" The shadow cried. Tokoyami let go of me and I quickly created an ice slope, sliding down it. I looked over to see Tokoyami holding Hawks, who was now unconscious.

"Hawks!" I cried as I crawled over to his side.

"Hawks, hey are you okay?" Tokoyami asked. I looked over at Hawks, taking note that he was still breathing.

"He's alive, the landing must have made him unconscious," I said as I stood up weakly. Dark shadow helped me stay up.

"You're injured too?" Tokoyami asked.

"It's mild compared to Hawks, we need to get out of here," I said.

"The light from his flames is weakening dark shadow," He said.

"I can create a wall of ice, hopefully, that can buy us some time to get out of here," I said as I created a wall in front of us.

"This is good, there's far much less light here," he said as he picked up Hawks. Dark shadow took hold of me.

"I can ice myself out of here and follow you, but as soon as we get to the air I need your shadow to lift me," I said as I pressed more ice to my stomach, numbing the throbbing pain.

"Are you sure?"

"Focus on Hawks, he matters more," I said smiling. He nodded.

"Try dark fallen angel," He said as wings of shadow sprouted from his back.

"I thought it might go down this way, so I saved power by making my last two shots weaker, say goodbye!" Dabi shouted, breaking through my wall with a blast of flame. Suddenly, ice erupted from the ground, causing Dabi to fall back.

"That wasn't me, but let's get out of here!" I shouted as I pressed my hands to the ground forming jagged steps. I quickly ran up to them, blasting ice in front of me to escape. I didn't have much time, but I needed to get out of here, fast.

"Dark shadow!" Tokoyami yelled as he flew out behind me. I reached the top of the roof and stepped on what remained of it.

"Tokoyami, now!" I cried as I leaped from the roof. His shadow wrapped around my waist, creating a rope of some sort. He flew us out of the area. Minutes later, we arrived at a makeshift medical center, but, it appeared as if they were under attack by rubble.

"I got this, save your strength," He said as he lifted two doctors who were running away with Dark Shadow. When it was all clear, he landed, placing me on the ground gently.

"Thank you, and about what Dabi said-"

"What you two did must have been justified, you are good people, I believe it, we all do," He said, tears flowing out of his eyes. I smiled weakly. The doctors came rushing towards us.

"Thank you for saving us!" The doctors said, bowing to Tokoyami. He nodded.

"Please give them immediate medical attention," He said as he handed Hawks to one of the doctors. The other knelt to me.

"Miss, what's wrong?"

"I-I don't know, please just help me," I whispered. They nodded as they carried me into the same tent as Hawks, placing us both on tables next to one another. The doctor felt along my body, checking for injuries.

"We're going to need to perform surgery, there's internal bleeding. We're going to put you under," the doctor said as he turned to his table.

"Please just make sure Hawks is okay-"

"There's only so much we can do. We will transport you both to a medical center to help you," the doctor said as he prepared an IV. Moments later, the world around me turned a pitch black.
