The weekend flew by and soon it was Monday afternoon. It was the final period of the day and of course, it was raining outside. I was gazing out of the window deep in thought.
School had gone by so slow today.
I thought as I continued to look out of the window. I had my work-study today, so I could go to Edgeshot today and see if what Todoroki had said was true. I looked up at the clock to see that I only had a minute left of class. I then looked up towards the front of the classroom to see that we had no homework today. We usually never had homework since the last semester classes were more lenient because almost all of us had work studies to attend. I quickly packed up my things and put on a rain jacket. The bell rung signaling school was over. I walked over to Nejire so that we could walk to our work studies together. We usually headed in the same direction since our agencies were so close.
"Hey Nejire, you ready to go?"
I asked. She stood up and put her backpack on.
"Yup!"
She said. We headed out of U.A. and down to our hero agencies.
"Are you better now?"
I asked as we walked down the street.
"Yeah! It was just a lot after all of that stuff that happened with Overhaul. But now that time has passed I was able to reflect on it and move on. What about you? You've seemed a little off this past couple of months. Is everything okay?"
She asked. I sighed.
I wish I could tell her everything.
"Yeah, just the stuff at home. My mom told me to keep it confidential."
She smiled at me.
"Well if you need anything let me know!"
She said smiling. I smiled back.
"Thank you!"
I said.
"No problem."
She said as we turned the corner and headed down the street that had my agency.
"Good luck with your work-study today!"
She said as we stopped in front of the building. I smiled at her.
"Thanks! You too."
I said as I headed inside. I looked to see Edgeshot and someone else with him. He had red wings and blonde hair.
Is that actually the number two hero Hawks?
I thought as I walked in.
"Oh, Eria!"
Edgeshot said. The man turned around also. He smiled as I walked up to them.
Wait that is Hawks! But what is he doing here?
"Eria this is the number two hero Hawks! Hawks this is Eria Takei also known as Frost."
"Pleasure to meet you."
Hawks said as he extended his hand to me. I smiled and shook it
"Nice to meet you!"
I said cheerfully.
"Eria, go get in your hero costume. I need to talk over some more things with Hawks."
"Okay!"
I said as I headed for the bathroom. I opened the big stall and quickly closed and locked it.
"Hawks, he's here! Is what Todoroki told me true?"
I whispered to myself. I shook the thought from my head as I put on my hero costume. I picked up my bag and walked out to see Edgeshot and Hawks still talking.
"Is everything okay?"
I asked as I set my bag down on the chair. Edgeshot looked a bit sad.
"Eria, we've been talking. Hawks is looking to recruit you for his agency to work with him full time."
"But I thought I couldn't sign with anyone else because I've already signed with you?"
I said. Edgeshot shook his head.
"We talked things over. I think it would be best for you and your future pro hero career if you joined Hawks' agency."
I looked at Edgeshot then Hawks.
"I uh, well this is surprising."
I said.
"Eria, do you need time to think this through?"
Hawks asked. I shook my head.
"No- no this is all just surprising to me. If Edgeshot says joining your agency will help me in my future hero career, then... then I'll do it!"
I said looking at both of them. Hawks smiled. I looked at Edgeshot.
"Edgeshot, thank you for allowing me to internship under you!"
I said as I bowed to him.
"You're welcome. I can't wait to see you in the top hero standings in the future."
He said. I smiled.
"Alright break it up."
Hawks said chuckling.
"Thank you again for the opportunity Edgeshot!"
I said as I walked with Hawks out of the agency.
"You're welcome."
He whispered as Hawks and I walked out. Hawks and I then walked down the street.
"So Eria, can you tell me a bit about your quirk? I watched you a bit at the U.A. sports festival. You're pretty impressive."
He said.
"Oh, I can create ice from my hands. The intensity of the blasts I shoot out is determined by my emotions. Which means that the only weakness I have is that if an emotion gets too intense, I could use my power at its max and lose control. Causing me to either pass out and be unable to fight or freeze to death."
I said.
"Wow, interesting. I noticed at the festival you were pretty calm. I thought that was just who you were as a person."
"Oh no, I'm just like that when I use my quirk. I have to be very careful to keep my emotions in check in battle."
I said reassuringly. He smiled.
"That's good to know. I honestly thought you were gonna be a quiet one."
He said. I laughed.
"Why exactly did you recruit me and not one of the big three at U.A."
I said looking at him. He smiled reassuringly.
"Well for starters, the big three are already at agencies of their own. And even if I could recruit one of them, I would have chosen you. Your quirk has some serious potential."
He sounds just like Dabi when he told me that my quirk had potential.
I thought as I continued to listen to him.
"And the fact that your quirk is fueled by emotion sets it apart from most ice quirks like yours. I think it makes you stronger in a way."
Hawks said as we crossed the street.
"Oh um, thanks!"
I said cheerfully. We suddenly stopped.
"We're here. Welcome to my hero agency!"
He said. I looked up to see a tall building.
So I guess I'll be working here now.
I thought as we walked in.
