Blue Flames

An hour or so had passed and I was still doing my routine. I had the song playing on repeat in my earbuds. As I was perfecting my final move Nejire floated over to me.

"Hey, we should get going. We don't wanna be late for our work-studies."

She said. I took out my earbud.

"Go on without me, I need to finish something."

I said as I put the earbud back in my ear. Nejire nodded and walked off. I then continued to practice my routine. I was on my third time practicing it when I decided to check the time on my phone. It read 4:50.

"Shit! I have ten minutes to get to my work-study!"

I said as I ran to my belongings and quickly took off my skates. I didn't have time to change so I threw on my shoes and put my blazer on top of my ice skating outfit. I then rushed out of the building and towards the entrance of U.A. As soon as I reached the entrance I darted down the street. As I was running I checked the time. It read 4:53, I now had seven minutes to get there but his agency was ten minutes away.

How the heck am I supposed to make it there on time?

I thought to myself as I turned the corner.

I guess I'll just have to pick up the pace.

I thought as I started to sprint even faster. Minutes later I found myself out of breath and in front of Hawks' agency. I quickly dusted myself off and walked inside. I then approached the elevator and pressed the up button so that I could meet him in his office.

I hope he doesn't mind that I'm in my ice skating costume.

I thought as I stepped into the elevator. It pulled me upwards and then stopped on the top floor, which was Hawks' office. I stepped out to see him sitting at his desk eating.

"Sorry, I'm late! I got help up with something at school. What's the assignment for today?"

I asked as I walked into his office. Hawks looked up from his food.

"What the heck are you wearing?"

He asked chuckling.

"Oh em, I was at rehearsals for U.A.'s beauty pageant for their school festival. I can go change, just let me know what my assignment is!"

I said flustered messed with my blazer.

"What are you doing for the talent part that requires you to wear something like that?"

Hawks asked as he stood up from his desk and wiped his hands on a napkin.

"It's cliche, but I'm ice skating."

I mumbled as I played with my hands.

"Ice skating? Y'know back when I was in high school I used to ice skate."

He said.

"Really?"

I asked looking at him.

"Yup! I wasn't amazing or anything but I enjoyed it."

He said. I smiled and nodded as I took off my blazer, feeling more confident in my outfit.

"Okay enough talk, you're gonna go on patrol today. I'm gonna finish these chicken skewers."

I looked at Hawks puzzled.

"O-Okay?"

I said as I turned towards the elevator.

"Eria. What's that on your back?"

I froze.

Shit. The mark from Dabi must have scarred up.
