[ A Game To Play ] Hyunjin x Reader

"Hey Hyunjin, have you heard of the new transfer student?" Felix asked his best friend, Hwang Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin was the school's heartthrob, with his perfect looks anyone would fall for him. To which he would always take advantage, with every new girl he would play a little so-called harmless game, which was to play with their hearts. Then when he was sure that the girl had fallen completely under his spell, he would dump them in front of the whole school. 

Many of the girls had fallen into his trap like moths to a flame. And no matter how much they cry, beg or plead to Hyunjin to take them back, he would never even bat an eye at them. He would insult their pathetic selves in front of everyone letting the poor girls burn with embarrassment. And with every new girl, every new game will be played. Hyunjin loved the game, no one could beat him. 

"Is it a girl?" Hyunjin cocked an eyebrow, "I don't know, I only heard that there will be a new student. I heard she's from Malaysia." Felix shared the information that he had heard from other students. Although Lee Felix was almost as beautiful as Hyunjin, he wasn't like Hyunjin. He never approved of Hyunjin's little game but didn't want to lose his best friend over a silly fuss of a game. So as much as he hated seeing how Hyunjin would tear down these girls mentally, he would always be on his side no matter what. I mean, how could he possibly leave his childhood best friend?

"I hope that it's a girl, if it's a new girl it means a new game to play." Hyunjin smirked as Felix shook his head "When are you ever going to stop this Hyunjin?" Felix asked as he rolled his eyes, "Nah, this is fun." Hyunjin chuckled as Felix ignored his last comment.

"Everyone meet our new student, Y/n L/n." the teacher said as he gazed around the class seeing that every student's eyes were on the girl next to him. "Hi! It's nice to meet everyone and I hope that we'll get along just great!" Y/n smiled kindly to the entire class and instantly everyone felt the brightness of her personality radiating off of her character 'Oh god, I would HATE for Hyunjin to break this poor girl's spirit.' Felix thought to himself already feeling sorry for the girl that would soon become a pawn in Hyunjin's game. 

Soon break time had arrived and almost in an instant Hyunjin went up to start his game "Hey! Y/n right?" he greeted casually with a sweet and charming yet fake smile on his face "Yup! I didn't really catch your name... what was your name again?"  Y/n asked with a smile and a little head tilt "Hyunjin! Don't worry about it, I only remembered your name since it's so hard to forget such a beautiful name." Hyunji winked as he slid a little flirting which caused Y/n to giggle at this attempt "How cute, so what's up?" Y/n cut straight to the point seeming to have no effect on Hyunjin's flirting "I was hoping my buddy, Felix and I could take you on a school tour, that is if you'd like." Hyunjin said, 'Hm, I don't see any harm in that, plus I do need to start making new friends so why not?' Y/n thought for a moment and smiled widely "I'd like that! But who's Felix?" Y/n asked as she looked around. 

"Felix come here!" Hyunjin called out to Felix who was talking to another student, Felix politely excused himself from the other student and went up to the two "Lix introduce yourself to Y/n!" Hyunjin said in a happy tone that dipped into a poisonous venom that couldn't be traced "Ah, nice to meet you." Felix greeted politely as he gave out a hand to shake, Y/n happily took his hand which was almost as big as hers and smiled "Nice to meet you too Felix!" she said before quickly noticing the small difference in Felix's and her own hand "Whoa, your hand is small." Y/n simply spoke out without thinking "Wait, shit, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to offend you or anything I just think that's pretty cool! Since it's not often for me to meet people, especially guys! With small hands so I just randomly and somehow stupidly blurted that out, again, so so sorry!" Y/n started to explain herself full of panic after she realised how much that sentence earlier could offend him. "Hey, it's okay! Don't worry about it." Felix smiled politely as he waved both of his hands 'She seems like a sweet girl, I would hate for Hyunjin to crush her.' Felix thought to himself sadly but still kept up his smile as he watched Hyunjin engaging in small talk with her.

Months passed and soon Hyunjin had finally moved on to the next step of his game which was to date Y/n, as usual, Hyunjin got the said girl to become his girlfriend. But there was something different about this one, it wasn't different for Hyunjin but it was for Felix, he felt... even more enraged than usual whenever he saw the two together alone in their own world. He wished that he could just drag Y/n away from Hyunjin's fake embrace and tell her that everything that Hyunjin had said and done was all a lie and that he'd just break up with her in front of the whole school, but he knew that Y/n would choose to believe her own boyfriend. After all, he's not dumb to not understand why he felt worse about this game, he knew that he had fallen for his girl best friend but he couldn't have her. 

Currently, Felix, Hyunjin and Y/n were talking in the hallway right before school started, Felix tried to keep his gaze straight at Hyunjin while they were talking and not let them drift off to Hyunjin's arm that was being wrapped around Y/n's warm embrace. Oh, how he wished it was him, "I'm gonna go head to the toilet now, I'll be right back!" Y/n happily chirped as she finally released herself from Hyunjin's arm and walked towards the toilet. "So, how is she?" Felix mustered up the courage to ask for any personal opinion from Hyunjin obviously about Y/n even though that he knew that he would probably not like his response. 

Hyunjin let out an exhausted sigh and rolled his eyes "She's so annoying! She's always so clingy, it's almost like she can't even leave me alone for even 5 minutes!" Hyunjin started to complain and ramble about how annoyingly clingy Y/n had been with him for these couple of months. "And you know how I take her on shopping dates, right? I swear whenever she tries on any clothes at all it's almost like she just ruins the entire outfit! She's so ugly, I can't believe that she even thinks that I'm attracted to her." Hyunjin laughed as he ran a hand through his hair. Felix felt his blood boil as he listened to every single word that had left Hyunjin's mouth. 

He wanted to beat the shit out of him for saying such filthy lies about Y/n. He hated it. He absolutely despised Hyunjin for it. He wanted to tell Y/n but would she even believe that her so-called angel of a boyfriend would say such nasty things about her? Probably not... but it's worth a shot. 

"So when are you going to do it?" Felix asked wanting to know when will he need to warn Y/n about Hyunjin's plan "Since Y/n is so irritating I was thinking of doing it sooner, maybe by the end of this week?" Hyunjin suggested which earned a nod from Felix. Today was Wednesday, enough time to tell Y/n but will it be enough time for her to accept and cope with it until Friday? Who knows...
