Hermione walked onto the train, excited to be back for her seventh and final year. Even better, she got to be Head Girl! Of course, she knew it would be this way. She was top of her class. Even so, when she got the letter, she squealed and danced around. According to her parents, she wouldn't stop talking about it. She took a deep breath, and went looking for Harry and Ron. After passing at least seven cars, she finally found them. She pulled open the door, heaving her trunk inside with her.
"Hello, Hermione!" Harry said. He had gotten taller over the summer, and, even though Hermione didn't think it possible, skinner.
"Hello, Harry!" Hermione sat down next to him. "How was your summer? The Dursleys any better?"
"As good as ever!" Hermione noticed that Harry seemed very happy this morning, almost too happy. She also noticed that Ron hadn't said a word. She looked over at him.
"Everything okay, Ron?" She questioned.
"Oh, so now you finally notice me?" He huffed, and looked out the window. Hermione leaned over to Harry.
"Whats wrong with him?" She whispered. Harry shrugged and asked Hermione about her summer, which she gladly told. She purposely left out the part about being Head Girl, hoping to surprise them later. Ron eventually joined in, telling about his summer and how Ginny had gotten a new boyfriend. Harry blushed madly at this. The three talked away until the train lurched to a stop.
Soon, they made their way to the great hall, Harry and Ron still talking. Hermione stayed silent, but neither seemed to notice. What they did notice was a couple slytherins looking at Hermione and giggling. Then, she saw him. Draco Malfoy. Draco was tall and slender, with sleek, silver ish-blonde hair and cold grey eyes. He was evil, and that was all. He was glaring at her from the Slytherin table, while his friends, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini, argued about something. Blaise was tall, and had dark hair and skin. Pansy had dark hair which was usually kept in a ponytail. She had piercing gray eyes, and was on the short side. Pansy was known to have a major crush on Draco, who seemed oblivious to her feelings. Hermione decided to ignore him, and sat down at the Gryffindor table. She was about to say something, when Dumbledore stood up. Immediately, the whole hall came to silence.
"Welcome, all of you, to Hogwarts." Dumbledore bellowed. "I would like to bring in the first years, to be sorted." As he says this, a line of first year's march in. They look around in awe, and some of them point at Harry, whispering among themselves. Once they are sorted into their houses, Dumbledore stands up, again. "Now, I would like to call up the prefects, and the Head boy and girl. First up for the prefects, Sally Birchgrove from Hufflepuff house, Zoe Accrington from Slytherin house, Jatin Agarkar from Ravenclaw house, and finally, Nick Alas from Gryffindor house!" The entire hall cheered for them. "Now, for the Head Boy and Girl. As I like to say, ladies first. The Head Girl this year is...Hermione Granger!" Harry and Ron whipped their heads around in surprise. Harry looked happy for her, but Ron just looked....disappointed. "Quiet down everyone! We still have the Head Boy to announce. The Head boy for this year is... Draco Malfoy!"

Hi! Sorry this was so short. Its my first chapter, so please tell me how you like it. By the way, all of the prefects are real characters. The ages might be a bit off, but they do appear in the Harry Potter books. Hope you like the story! :)
Woah okay I totally thought this was shit when I wrote it, but it's actually pretty good.
