Yoko Apasra trudged through the hallways of Stonebridge High, her head pounding and her vision slightly blurred. The noice of chattering students and slamming lockers seemed louder than usual, making her headache even worse.

She had woken up that morning feeling unwell, but with a crucial chemistry exam scheduled, she had forced herself to come to school.

As she rounded the corners to her homeroom clads, her steps faltered, she stumbled slightly. Leaning against the wall to steady herself, Yoko took a few deep breaths, trying to shake of the dizziness.

"Yoko, are you alright?"

Yoko looked up to see Ms. Faye Malisorn, her P.E teacher with concern etched on her face. Ms. Malisorn was known for her kindness and her keen interest in her students' well-being. Her black hair was tied back in a neat ponytail, and her dark brown eyes were filled with worry.

"Just feeling a bit off, Ms. Malisorn," Yoko replied, attempting a weak smile. Ms. Malisorn placed a gentle hand on Yoko's shoulder, "You dont look well at all. Have you eaten anything today?"

Yoko shook her head, "I wasn't hungry this morning."

"That won't do," Ms. Malisorn said firmly but kindly. "Come on, let's get you to the canteen. You need to eat something."

Yoko wanted to protest, to insist she could handle it on her own, but the genuine concern in Ms. Malisorn's eyes made her relent. Together, they walked to the main canteen, the teacher supporting her students with a steadying hand on her arm.

The canteen was bustling with students grabbing their lunches and chatting animatedly. Ms. Malisorn guided Yoko to a quieter corner, away from the crowd, and sat her down at a small table.

"Stay here, I'll get us something to eat," Ms. Malisorn said before heading to the food counter.

Yoko watched her teacher move with a sense of purpose, weaving through the throng of students with ease. Within minutes, she returned with a tray laden with a variety of foods - a sandwich, a bowl of fruit, and a steaming cup of soup.

"Eat slowly," Ms. Malisorn advised, placing the tray in front in Yoko. "This should help you feel better."

Yoko nodded and picked up the spoon, grateful for the warm, comforting smell of the soup. She took a tentative sip, feeling the warmth spread through her. Ms. Malisorn sat across from her, sipping on a cup of tea and watching her with a gentle smile.

"Thank you, Ms. Malisorn," Yoko said after a few bites. "I didn't realize how much I needed this."

"It's no trouble at all, Yoko. You need to take care of yourself," Ms. Malisorn replied, "So tell me, how's everything at home?"

Yoko hesitated, not used to talking about her personal life with teachers. But there was something about Ms. Malisorn's demeanor that made her feel safe, understood.

"It's been a bit tough," Yoko admitted, "My parents are always busy at work, and my sisters or super lazy to do house chores and they were always busy. Sometimes it feels like I'm on my own."

Ms. Malisorn nodded sympathetically, "That sounds challenging. It's hard ti balance school and family responsibilities, especially when you're not feeling well.

Yoko sighed, "Yeah, it is. But I guess I just have to manage."

Ms. Malisorn leaned forward slightly, "You don't have to do it alone, Yoko. It's imporant to reach out for help when you need it. Teachers, friends, we're all here to support you."

Yoko looked into Ms. Malisorn's eyes, she saw how genuine, concern and understanding she is. It was a rare feeling, one she hadn't experienced much outside of her small circle of friends. For the first time in a long while, she felt weight lifting off her shoulders.

"Thank you, Ms. Malisorn. It means a lot to hear that," Yoko said sincerely.

Ms. Malisorn smiled warmly, "Anytime, Yoko. And please, call me Faye when we're not in class, hmm?"

Yoko smiled back, feeling a sense of connection with Faye that went beyond the usual teacher-student relationship. They continued to talk, sharing stories about their families, their passions and their dreams. Faye spoke about her love for the subject Physical Education and how it had shaped her lifec while Yoko shared her aspirations of becoming a writer someday.

By the lunch period was over, Yoko felt significantly better. The food, combined with the comforting conversation, had done wonders for her spirits. As they left the canteen together, she had realized that this unexpected moment of kindness had forged a bond she hadn't anticipated.

"Thank you again, Faye." Yoko said as they parted ways, "You're welcome, Yoko. Remember, my door is always open if you need anything," Faye replied with a reassuring smile.

As Yoko headed to her next class, she felt a newfound sense of strength and support. The connection she had formed with Faye was a reminder that she wasn't alone, and that sometimes, a little mindset could make all the difference.
