You walked into the living room and saw a whole other headache had unfolded while you were away. Hyunjin and Jeongin pouted, beat up and battered. Maybe it was a terrible idea being here.

Jeongin jumped to his feet when he saw you but was forcefully shoved back onto the couch by Changbin who glared at you. You weren't sure if it was because of you or just the situation in general.

"You're back. Okay we have got to set some rules." Chan began.

You nodded in agreement. There definitely had to be rules in place.

"Well everyone is here so this is how this is going to go. One. Your bedroom will be on the third floor across from mine, furthest I can make it from Jeongin's, Seungmin's and Felix's." The three of them opened their mouths, betrayed by the eldest, gearing up to protest, but Chan continued, shutting them down immediately. "Two. There will be no more fighting. If you have an issue, work it out like brothers with words and not fists. Hyunjin, Jeongin and Seungmin, I'm especially talking about you three."

Hyunjin scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Three! We all need to eat. Which means, Y/N, tomorrow you will remain in your room and not exit unless you want to get yourself hurt." You nodded. Your mind began to race. There were actually going to be deaths happening tomorrow. Could you handle that? Just knowing it was happening under the same roof? "Four. Changbin and I will be taking care of buying food for our guest. The rest of you are banned from leaving the house for a while with the exception of Minho. Unless you absolutely have to leave, in which case, one of us will accompany you." Chan again continued to ignore everyone's protests. "And fifth. If anyone would like to put their trust in a human, by all means come speak to me. Only when everyone agrees will we perform the ritual."

So your freedom was literally going to depend on your likability? You hated that. That went against everything you wanted the world to be about. No, fuck that. If this was the price to pay, staying inside a boundary until you died, so be it, because out there it was no different. You weren't about to change your morals to step outside a mansion. The situation finally settled in your mind.

"Chan?"

You called, making the leader turn to face you. Did his frozen heart just beat again? He shook it off. It was a stupid thought.

"Can someone show me to my room? Or even point me in the right direction? I'm exhausted."

"Of course! I ca-"

"I'll do it." Changbin stood, interrupting Chan from his speech, and leading you forward. You crossed your fingers, hoping the hunger hadn't finally gotten to him too badly.

You gave a brief smile to everyone followed by a bow before catching up to Changbin.

He led you to the stairs and waited patiently for you to get closer before continuing up the steps.

You were walking the hallway to the rooms on the top floor when he stopped and sighed. "I'm sorry."

"Eh?"

He chuckled. "I'm sorry for scaring you so much when you first got here."

"Oh, no, it's fine. I know you were hungry."

He smirked. "True, but no. The youngest don't know about this because they weren't around, but Minho Chan and I, we watched many who came before us get killed, or lose their life because of choices they made."

You stiffened. "I'm sorry... I- ...I'm, I don't really know what to say except sorry."

Changbin shook his head. "No, it's okay. It happens. We weren't close, they were just our elders. But this is our family now, or the family we made... Or, the family that was made for us? Either way, we can't lose anyone, not ever. So if you can imagine, we are very cautious."
