KING'S LANDING

Befriending the Princess proved a harder challenge than Cersei had anticipated. She was quiet, reserved, cold, and not at all interested in any subject matter Cersei found appealing.
Daena was a free spirit, adventurous, and daring. And Cersei, while ambitious, had no interest in the Princess' 'boyish' pursuits.
"It is hopeless!" She complained one day to her lord father, "Princess Daena does not share any remotely similar interests to me. It seems to me that it would be better if Jamie were to try and befriend her given her... roguish ways."
The Hand of the King worked away at his desk, writing papers and affixing the royal seal to them. He did not bother to even look up at his daughter as she complained.
"Jamie is due to depart for Crakehall to squire. He will remain at the Rock until then," Lord Tywin stated, pausing his writing to finally acknowledge Cersei, "You however must keep trying. I will speak to Queen Rhaella and arrange a luncheon between you and the Princess."
Cersei bowed her head, "Thank you, father."
"Don't disappoint me," he stated coldly, having already returned to his quills and inks.
Cersei bowed again, "Yes, father."

Her father had kept his word and set up a luncheon between Cersei and Princess Daena.
Cersei sat a bit impatiently in the gardens waiting for the Princess to arrive, she herself arriving early to ensure everything was in order.
She heard the clinking of mail and Princess Daena emerged from around a corner of shrubbery, escorted by Ser Barristan Selmy.
Cersei stood and gave her most practiced curtsy, "Princess. Ser Barristan."
"Lady Cersei," the Princess greeted.
Cersei stood, clasping her hands in front of her, "Please, have a seat. I've ordered a splendid array of cakes for us."
The princess nodded and walked around the table and took her seat, Cersei immediately following.
Ser Barristan walked a few paces away and took his post but leaving enough space to give the girls some privacy.
"Would you like some lemon cakes, Princess?" Cersei offered, appearing every bit the gracious noble lady.
