Skylanders Journey: Season 1

Episode 3: Sweet Dreams

The Skylanders Academy cadets all stood at the beginning of the obstacle course. Boom Bloom paced in front of the cadets with her whip held behind her back.

Boom Bloom:
Okay, cadets, today we've got an exciting assignment for you. Today, all you have to do is make it to the end of the obstacle course and hit that buzzer.

Spyro:
Pffft, piece of cake.

Trigger Happy:
Cake, where?

Spyro:
Trig, there's no real......uh never mind.

Boom Bloom:
Well if it's that easy, how would you like to go first, Spyro?

Spyro:
With pleasure.

Spyro then walked up to the starting line of the obstacle course. Boom Bloom walked beside him, holding her whip in one hand and a stopwatch in the other. She cracked her whip and signaled Spyro to begin. Spyro darted for the obstacle course but was instantly bombarded with a struggle to reach the other side. Despite his struggle, Spyro reached the other side and hit the buzzer.

Spyro:
Okay, how was my time?

Boom Bloom:
A minute and a half. Okay, who wants to go next.

For the next hour, many cadets would try and reach the other side. Some like Flameslinger and Terrafin did well, but others like Gill Grunt and Eruptor did not do the best, Trigger Happy was even thrown straight across the island. After some time, only Stealth Elf remained to take the test.

Boom Bloom:
Okay, are you ready.

Stealth Elf looked forward and nodded to the sensei. Boom Bloom cracked her whip and Stealth Elf began running across the course. She made her way with relative ease, not struggling like the others. Eventually the elven ninja made her way to the other side and hit the buzzer.

Boom Bloom:
Eighteen seconds, fastest time. Good job.

Spyro:
Wow, that was amazing, Elf.

Stealth Elf:
It was nothing, just standard agility.

Boom Bloom:
Okay, class dismissed, please move to your next class.

As they were leaving, Flameslinger stopped and padded Stealth Elf on the shoulder.

Flameslinger:
You really did do good.

Stealth Elf:
Thanks, it was really nothing.

Flameslinger:
Even so, it was the most impressive.

Flameslinger then walked passed Stealth Elf who walked slowly afterwards.

Later that night, Spyro was going to bed in his dorm. He had been working throughout the entire day and doing training and quizzes the whole time.

Spyro:
Man, I am exhausted. Well, good night me.

Spyro then curled up onto his bed and slowly drifted to sleep. He then appeared in an open landscape that was located on an island that seemed to be where the academy should be. He looked around but only saw nothing.

Spyro:
Where am I?

???:
You're where you belong, Spyro.

Spyro leaped back at the mysterious voice that seemed to come from nowhere.

Spyro:
Who's there?

???:
No one wants you. No one will except you.

Spyro couldn't believe what the mysterious voice was telling him. He then screamed in fear as the ground beneath him faded.
