Episode 8: On the Sheepball

Eruptor walked up to the flyer that hung outside of the arena. At the top, it read "Sheepball Tryouts" at the top. He took the quip that hung by it and wrote his name.

Spyro:
Whatcha doing, Eruptor?

Eruptor jumped at Spyro's sudden appearance, startled as the purple dragon appeared behind him.

Eruptor:
Spyro, what is your problem?

Spyro:
Eruptor, are you signing up for the Sheepball team?

Eruptor:
Yeah, so what? I like Sheepball.

Spyro:
Right, well good luck then.

Spyro then took the quill and wrote his name on the sheet and flew away. Eruptor breathed deeply before looking back at the sheet and sighing.

The cadets that were trying out for the team all made it onto the field. Flare Wolf paced in front of them, a whistle around his neck.

Flare Wolf:
Okay, so on top of training to be Skylanders, I hope all of you are up for a game of Sheepball. Not only does it help teach you all to work together, but it's also fun. So, who would like to go first?

Spyro stepped up first and took the sheep from Flarewolf. He then dashed forward and grabbed hold of the sheep, making it past the robotic trolls stationed to act as opponents. He then jumped onto the other end of the field and landed the sheep at it.

Flare wolf:
Good work, Spyro, your on the team.

For the next few hours, each cadet tried out for the Sheepball team. Some managed to pass the tryouts, others failed. By the time they were wrapping up, only Eruptor remained.

Flare wolf:
Okay, your up, Eruptor. Show me what you got.

Eruptor then stepped forward and readied to run. As he prepared himself, Flare wolf blew the whistle and Eruptor was off. He caught the sheep and managed to make it past the robot trolls before scoring the sheep at the other end. The other cadets all had their jaws dropped before they clapped.

Flare wolf:
Wow, you are definitely on the team. Okay everyone, we'll be playing the Gross Greebles on Saturday, see you all at practice tomorrow.

Eruptor walked away while Spyro flew to catch up with him.

Spyro:
Wow, you have some mad skills, E.

Eruptor:
What can I say, I used to play Sheepball Al the time growing up.

Spyro:
Well with your mad skills, we're sure to win.

When that Saturday came, teams both arrived at the field. At one end stood the academy's team, the Sky Rollers and at the other end, the Gross Greebles. At the commentator's booth was Spam Bam and Bumble-Blast.

Bumble-Blast:
Welcome to the Skylanders Academy Sheepball game!

Spam Bam:
That's right, Bumble-Blast, today we've got our Skylanders Academy Skyrollers, versus the Gross Greebles.

Down at the field, Flare Wolf paced in front of the team. They all stood, ready to play the game.

Flare Wolf:
Okay, the Greebles are tough, but you just gotta stay outta there way. Now, go out there and let's do this. Oh, and Eruptor, you got this, kid.

Eruptor:
Thanks, coach.

The teams then got into their positions across from each other. Flipwreck stepped onto the pitch with a whistle around his neck and wearing a black and white vest. He blew into his whistle and water came out of his blowhole, signaling the game.
