Spyro sat through his final class for the day. King Pen was standing over the class as they wrote their exams down. Throughout class, Spyro could not stop thinking about Cynder, or what he had done.

King Pen:
Well done, class dismissed. I'll see you all tomorrow.

The cadets all turned in their papers and walked out of the classroom. As Spyro turned in his paper, however, he left and quickly moved into a sprint. Taking flight he made his way around the academy and through many doors until he found Eon's study. He flew in, finding Eon standing there at his desk.

Spyro:
Eon!

Eon:
Spyro? What are you doing here?

Spyro:
Look, I know what you said about it being dangerous, but we have to send the Skylanders to save Cynder. I know she was Malefor's daughter but she's one of us! We have to!

Eon's face looked the least bit amused as he looked down at Spyro. The purple dragon was about to speak when Eon held his hand up and stop him.

Eon:
Spyro, I already told you, no one has ever entered the realm of Malefor and lived to tell the tale. I am not sending the Skylanders to their doom just to save one cadet. I'm sorry.

Spyro looked to the floor shamefully at this encounter. Hugo then ran through the door screaming, a sheep shortly behind him. He suddenly tripped and spilled his maps and book everywhere.

Eon:
Hugo, are you alright?

Eon then used his telekinesis to lift the sheep out of the room. Spyro looked down and saw a map that landed at his feet. On the map, he saw that the realm of Malefor was only slightly, but on the map. Making sure no one was looking, he took the map and left Eon's study.

That night, Spyro laid awake while everyone else had fallen asleep. He slowly opens the door and peeks to see if anyone was still awake. Finding no one, he returned to his dorm and took the map.

Spyro:
Sorry Eon, but sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands.

Spyro checked the map one more time before he flew out of his dorm window. He flew away from the academy, which was shrinking as he left. Leaving to find Cynder, Spyro knew that there now no turning back.

Spyro flew through the clouds, which were now very dark out. He made his way into a realm full of very dark clouds and withering islands. Spyro flew down to one of the islands. Checking the map one more time, Spyro found this to be the place.

Spyro:
Okay, this is it. Well, there's no going back now. I'm coming for you, Cynder.

Spyro then takes flight again and flies further into this horrible place. He began to search around in the seemingly never ending darkness of this place, failing to find any trace of Cynder. He flies around the realm of Malefor a few more times but is unable to find Cynder and having second thoughts about coming to this place.

Spyro:
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

Spyro was about to turn back when he realized why he came there in the first place. He remembered what Cynder found when he told her those horrible things, and once again regretting them.

Spyro:
Wait, what am I doing? I can't leave. I came in here to find Cynder, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Suddenly through all the dark fog, Spyro saw a violet blur move pass him. He looked and followed the blur and when he walked through the fog, he saw Cynder sitting at the edge of the island, her back facing him. She seemed to be looking over the edge, making Spyro feel more guilty.
