January, 2042
On 1st of January the there was exciting news, Emperor Komihito of Japan was abdicating. He had just forced through the law allowing women to succeed to the Chrysanthemum Throne, and now his oldest daughter Asami, would become Empress. The new era name was announced to be Reikō meaning Radiant Light.
Jason was invited to the Enthronement ceremony. He flew to Japan, and landed in Tokyo.
The Abdication was signed and Jason began giving a speech:
"This is a momentous day for Gender equality throughout the world. Today Japan got its first Female ruler. I am wishing Her Majesty a 10,000 year long reign as it is customary in Japan. May the empress preside of 10,000 years of Peace and Prosperity for Japan. Let me be the first to Say Kōgō heika banzai!"
The new empress was presented with the three sacred treasures. Then the enthronement was proclaimed .Finally,the crowd chanted "Kōgō heika banzai!!!! Kōgō heika banzai!!!! Kōgō heika banzai!!!!". The 21 gun salute boomed through the air. The national Anthem Kimigayo was played.
