"What?!" Ivy was too shocked to process anything, "Dom I swear if you're playing tricks on me right now..."

"Hi mommy!" She heard her son's excited voice in the background.

Now that she heard his voice she didn't feel as scared, she closed her eyes and tried to process her thoughts.

"Where are you?" She asked him.

"I'll explain but promise not to get mad," Dom started to say.

"Where the heck are you Dom?"

"At my hotel, same one as last time."

She closed her eyes tight, pressing her lips into a tight line, "send me the address again, I'll be there."

"What the heck is going on?" Avril asked as Ivy picked her bag, heading out.

"Dom has Dalton."

"What the actual fuck? How? Why?!"

"I don't know but I'm about to kill Dom."

"What about his school being on fire? What was that about?"

"I don't know Avril, I don't fucking know!"

"Should I come with you?" Avril wondered.

"No, I need someone to stay here."

"Alright, just update me on whatever this mess is."

Ivy ignored the staff that cowered in fear and fled as she made her way out of Dalton Enterprises.

She pulled out her car, driving off to the texted address.

*

Ivy pressed the door bell, tapping her foot impatiently as she stood outdide his hotel room in her long curve hugging skirt, her white designer shirt tucked into it.

Dom opened up, wearing a simple black shirt and grey shorts.

"Why do you have him?" Her voice was laced with poison.

"Mommy!" Dalton snuck between Dom's legs to wrap around her.

She picked him up, all the built tension finally easing up, "baby, what happened? I was so worried." She squeezed him tightly against her.

"Mommy look what I made!" He hopped out of her hands showing her the train set he'd built.

"It's lovely."

She pulled Dom's hand, dragging him into the small living room carved out.

"What is this?"

"I'm here on a business trip, one of my colleagues dropped his daughter off this morning and I was surprised to see your son was a classmate of hers... I was driving by this afternoon when I saw the fire, I had to get him out."

"He's not your son Dom, stop trying to get attached to him." She couldn't believe her ears.

"You're welcome, Ivy."

She closed her eyes, reopening them with a sigh, "thank you? But why on earth would you bring him here without calling me first?"

"I was just so worried, I wanted him safe first, there was so much panic, anyone could have taken anyone's child, I didn't want him taken by a stranger."

"You are a fucking stranger Dom, do you not..."

"When will the pizza be here?" Dalton came into the room, interrupting her.

"Just a minute," Dom assured him.

"You ordered pizza for him?!" Ivy gasped.

"He said he was hungry for it, so I ordered it from room service, don't worry they have the best pizza in here."

"We will not be needing it," she reached into her bag, taking out a bundle of cash and leaving it on the table, "thank you for your help."

She reached for Dalton's hand, "come on baby, let's get you home, I'll order you-"

She was interrupted by the door bell sounding.

"Well, looks like the room service is here, what good in letting it go to waste?"

Dom went to open the door, and Dalton screeched, running to gobble it.

Ivy clenched her fists by her sides, watching as Dom handled the slices and handed it out to her son.

She paced back and forth the living room, waiting for him to be done.

*

"It's raining why don't you spend the night?" Dom suggested after he was done eating.

"Are you crazy?" She widened her eyes, whispering.

"Yes mommy! Please!" Dalton pleaded, "I don't like the rain!"

"That's not going to be possible!" Ivy frowned.

"The bed is big enough for you two, and I can get room service to give you comfortable PJs, I'll take the couch and..."

"Dom, it's not happening."

"Mommy please, uncle Dominic is so cool and..."

"Uncle Dominic?!" She was going crazy at this point.

"Ivy there's nothing to it, you're still too shocked by today's event to drive, it's safer for you two here."

Ivy swallowed a lump in her throat, looking between the two.

"I can't believe I'm doing this, but we'll stay, leaving first thing tomorrow morning."
