The next morning, Ivy groaned at the sound of her phone blaring from the night stand.

Without opening her eyes, she stretched, tapping everywhere on the stand but still not reaching the phone.

She groaned and attempted to sit up but Dom's hand draped over her waist restricted her.

She gently tried to push him off but he groaned, not opening his eyes, "No, Ivy, let's stay like this for a little longer."

"My phone is ringing," she said in a low voice, "I have to take it."

She got to her feet, still completely naked from last night and so was he.

He sat up, pulling the blanket up to his lower half, slapping her ass a little as she walked to the phone.

She smiled, picking it up. It was Avril.

"Girl!" Avril squealed into the phone, causing her to wince and pull it away from her ear.

"You need to come home right now, I can't deal with this shit anymore."

"Why? What's wrong?" Ivy asked with a frown.

"So a lot has been happening at work, one of the staff was caught stealing funds it's a big thing, I don't think anyone can fix it."

Ivy shut her eyes, "I'll be there, book me the next available flight."

She hung up and went to lay in Dom's hands.

"What's wrong?" He asked her, running his fingers through her hair.

"It's a work emergency," she said with her head rested against his chest.

"Why? What's wrong?"

"A staff caused trouble, I have to go fix it."

"Wow, Ivy I'm really so proud of how far you've come, owning your own business, and now this?"

She smiled, "I was always a hard worker and you know it."

He sighed, "and I foolishly lost it."

She looked up at him, "I'm sad that I have to leave but it's needed," she was heading to the bathroom as she spoke.

"Oh trust me," his lips pulled up in a smirk, "after last night, I'm definitely all healed."

She rolled her eyes playfully, "you fucking pervert."

"But it's true."

He got to his feet, heading into the shower with her, "we will keep in touch right?"

"Definitely," she nodded.

He raised one brow, "should we shower together? Like old times?"

Ivy's face reddened at the thought, "only if you promise not to delay my flight."

Dom raised his hands in defeat, "I definitely can't make any promises."

Ivy had her bags packed as Dom drove her to the airport, "I hope you can fix everything."

"I know I definitely will."

Dom waved her off as she boarded her flight leaving for home.

"Where on earth have you been?!" Avril panicked as soon as Ivy was at the entrance of the office.

As she walked in all her staff stood there in fear of what she could do but she had a bright smile on her face.

They exchanged confused looks, "is this our boss?" She could hear them saying.

None of them had ever seen her smile.

Even Avril has a confused frown on her face, "did you hear me right? I said a staff caused-"

"And so what?" Ivy shrugged, "it doesn't mean anything, it's not something we can't fix so why be dramatic ?"

Ivy heard the collective gasps from around her.

"Did you hit your head on your trip?" Avril asked in astonishment.

"Just show me what went wrong..." Ivy rolled her eyes as they made their way to her office.

*

"I can't believe we panicked over nothing, you fixed it just like a pro," Avril said, standing over Ivy's shoulder with a cup of coffee in her hands.

Ivy was sitting in front of her computer, "I told you I'd take care of it."

"Yeah," Avril furrowed her brows, sitting in front of Ivy, "are you okay?"

Ivy frowned, "what do you mean?"

"You didn't fire the staff that caused this," Avril quickly waved her hands in front of her face, "not that I want you to, it's just too unlike you! You've fired someone for breathing too loudly before. You've been acting strange since you... Look! You're smiling now! Like you're thinking about something."

"You're over reacting Ave," Ivy crossed her legs over the other, "hey Avril."

"Yeah?"

"Remember when Dom's company came in hopes we'd partner with them?"

"Yeah?"

"Approve it."

"What?!" Avril's eyes widened in shock and then she furrowed them, "wait, is it Dominic, is this what this is about?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Ivy bit the insides of her cheeks to hide her smile.

"Oh my gosh, did you guys?"

"Where's Dalton?" Ivy changed the subject.

"He's at school."

"Alright," Ivy got to her feet, "I'll go pick him up."

"Whoa, there's a lot you're not telling me!" Avril groaned in frustration.

Ivy simply smiled at her, "you'll find out soon."

Just then her phone beeped in her purse, "I have to take this," she said to Avril once she saw Dom's name flash across the screen.

She excused herself, heading to her car to pick Dalton up.

"Hey," she said in a soft voice.

"Baby girl, how are you?"

"I'm good, I landed a couple hours ago, fixed the issue, all is good."

"That's amazing.... Hold on Ivy, I'm getting a call..."

"Sure," she said, holding on the line as she opened her car. A few minutes later, she heard his voice.

"Ivy what the hell? My staff just told me Dalton Enterprises will be collaborating with us?!"

She chuckled, "I don't know, I felt like approving your proposal."

"What the actual fuck?!"

She smiled, "we will talk more on it, when will you be back?"

"Fucking tomorrow! What the hell?!"

"Okay then," she said, "can we meet?"

"Yes! Do you even have to ask."

She took a deep breath in, "text me an address, there's something I want to tell you."

"Okay!" Dominic beamed, "it's a date."

"I'll talk to you later, I need to be somewhere."

"Sure."

As she was about to hang up, he spoke, "hey Ivy?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

Her heart sunk, she'd not heard that in a while so she was at loss on what to say.

"Thanks?"

He laughed a little before hanging up.

As she drove to pick Dalton up, she thought about what she was about to tell Dominic.

"It's time my son met his father..."
