Dom soon caught up with her, holding her wrist. She spun on her heels and slapped him hard across the face, "don't you dare fucking touch me!"

"I didn't mean to offend you that way," he said, his eyes wide in shock, "Ivy I promise."

She continued to walk away from him and he continued to follow after her.

"Ivy, please..."

She startled him when she suddenly stopped, facing him, "you think I'm some slut you can mistreat, boast about fucking to the public?"

"Ivy never... It's that bastard John, I promise I didn't..."

"Stay out of my life and back where you came."

"That's going to be impossible.... I know you want this, and your body does too."

"Stop acting like you know anything about me."

"I'm sorry Ivy."

"Stay away Dom, I mean it."

She pulled into her SUV, driving off and leaving him to stand there alone.

"Fuck," Dom groaned, kicking at a stray can on the street, "I just had to fucking ruin it."

He ran his fingers through his hair, hating himself more than he ever had.

"I'll make it up to you Ivy, I promise."

"Why are the products lopsided? Get the fuck out of my sight." Ivy tossed the brand across the table, not caring that it crashed to the floor.

"Ma'am you approved these last meeting," the staff in front of her stammered, eyes wide in shock.

Ivy raised a brow at her, "are you talking back at me?"

"No..."

"What's your name?"

"Helen ma'am."

"Submit your resignation letter."

Helen let out a gasp, instantly falling on her knees and sobbing, "please ma'am, I can't lose my job, I'm so sorry ma'am."

"Whoa, whoa, that's enough, you can go back to your station." Avril dismissed her.

"Thank you, thank you so much," Helen hurried to her feet, taking her leave out of there.

"Don't you think you're being a little too hard on the staff today?" Avril turned to Ivy once the two were alone.

"I don't know what you're talking about, I'm being exactly the same as I usually am."

"What exactly happened at that club last night?" Avril sat across from her in the giant office.

"Nothing!" Ivy suddenly raised her voice, causing Avril to flinch, "I just said I was okay."

"Whoa, okay, okay... Relax."

Ivy slammed her fist against her desk, "ugh, everyone is so fucking frustrating."

"This is about Dominic, isn't it? Let me guess, he showed up?"

Ivy was surprised by how accurate her friend was.

"So I am right after all."

Ivy ran her fingers through her hair, "I don't know what to fucking do Avril, it's all too frustrating."

"What are you talking about?"

"What if Dom goes deeper? he won't stop until he gets what he wants? What if he... What if he takes my son away from me?"

"That's not going to happen, you're just stressing yourself out, what you need is a break from work."

"I know what I'm going to do," Ivy got to her feet and began pacing around, "I'm going to move."

"Stop saying nonsense, you've been a strong woman, why give up all you've built for him?" Avril couldn't believe her ears, "no one is moving anywhere, just maintain your ground, what could go wrong? You don't care about him anymore."

Avril noticed the silence and the look on Ivy's face, her brows furrowed, "right? You don't care anymore?"

When Ivy remained silent , Avril got to her feet, "oh my God, Ivy there's no way on earth..."

"You don't understand, I don't give a fuck about him but..."

She was pulled from her discussion at her ringing phone.

She sighed, going to answer it, "it's from Dalton's school," she frowned.

She put the phone to her ear, "hello?"

"It's a call from Dalton's school ma'am , there was a fire."

"A fire? What do you mean a fire?!"

"One of the classrooms caught on fire, we've been evacuating the children but some of them are still trapped inside, the rescue team is doing their best..."

"Where's Dalton? Where's my son?!"

"What happening?" Avril panicked.

"Answer me!" Ivy snapped at her phone.

"He's not among the children rescued so far but dont worry Ma'am, we're doing our best to-"

Ivy's phone dropped from her ears.

She let out a deafening scream.

"What is it?" Avril asked in shock.

"Get me my car!" Ivy began to sail, "my son... He's trapped in a fire, "get all the best firemen you can find, we have to-"

Her phone rang a second time. She picked it up, staring at the unknown number.

With shaky hands, she put the phone up to her ear, expecting to hear the worst.

"Ivy?" A male voice called on the other end, "It's Dom, your son is with me."
