The people around her stared like she'd gone insane as she sprinted into the hospital.

She headed straight to where the receptionist was panting, "I just got a call..." She tried to form her words, completely out of breath.

"Ma'am, I'm going to need you to stay calm for me..." The receptionist told her, "are you here to see a patient?"

She nodded fast, still trying to catch her breath.

"What's the patient's name?"

"Dom... In... Hard..."

"Dominic Harding?"

"Yes, my God, is he okay?!"

She asked in a panic.

"You need to register before you can see him."

"Okay, just give it to me!" She snapped at the receptionist, who kept her cool like she was used to seeing things like this.

"Alright full name miss?"

"Ivy Ivrine."

"Relationship with the patient?"

Ivy thought long about it and she realized she had nothing she could say to fill in the blank.

"Guardian." She finally said.

"Where is he ? I don't have time for this!" She ran her fingers through her hair, going crazy not knowing if he was fine.

All the alcohol that had been in her system was completely drained, her heart racing faster than it had ever done in her whole life.

She pressed one hand over her chest, "oh God, this is all my fault."

"You need to go wait over there, he's still in the emergency room."

She snatched the waiting slip from her grip and took it with her to pace back and forth of the waiting room. She snatched the collar of the first doctor that walked past her, "how is he doing?!"

"We're doing our best miss please just stay calm."

"What do you mean your best? Is the situation he's in that bad?" Even more panic started to set in.

"Just wait here ma'am."

"What have I been doing except waiting? Are you asking me to wait faster?"

She moved away from him, taking a long breath. Many heads were turned her way and she didn't care about her image or what their thought processes would be.

She swallowed a hard lump that was growing in her throat and sat on the waiting bench, burying her face in her hands. She began to sob.

"Dom please just stay alive, there's so much I want to say to you."

She remained there for a while, not sure what to do. No one was telling her anything or how badly he was injured.

She pulled her phone out to dial Avril again.

"Avril?"

"Yes Ivy?" Her best friend immediately detected the oddness in her tone, "hey what's wrong? What's with the long voice?"

"Please extend my stay here."

"Why? What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Ivy sniffed, "I just need to take care of some things."

"Oh my God, are you crying right now? What the heck is going on?"

"I'll explain when I get back but-" she trailed off as a nurse came to stand in front of her.

"The operation was successful, we had to get him treated, he lost a lot of blood but his vitals are okay and he should be fine in a couple of days. We just need to keep monitoring him."

She hung up without waiting for Avril to finish talking.

Ivy sprung to her feet, heading straight into his room.

She found him laying there unconscious. She rested her head on his chest, sobbing her eyes out, "Dom, thank you, I don't know what I would have done if something bad had happened to you instead."

She turned to the nurse, "can I wait with him?"

"We need to move him to a ward, will you pay the bills in the mean time?"

"Whatever it is, just charge it on my card, I don't give two fucks."

"Oh-"

*

Once he was settled in his room, she sobbed, staring at him all bandaged up. She sighed, "Please be okay," she buried her face in her palms.

"I think I am knowing you care enough to cry." His deep voice called, husky and drained.

"Dominic?" She was startled, "oh my God, I'll get the doctor," she tried to take her leave, but he held her back, pulling her by her wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?" He groaned, feeling pains in places he didn't even think it was possible to be hurt.

"I need to get the doctor to check on you."

"I'm fine Ivy, just stay here with me."

"How did this even happen?!"

"I didn't want to drive after drinking so I called a taxi, and I don't know what went wrong with his brakes, they failed and next thing I know, everything's gone blank."

She sighed, "it's all my fault, if I didn't let you go-"

"Dominic!" A female voice shrieked, causing Ivy to flinch as she entered the room.

"Oh my God!" The model looking woman walked in, holding a little girl, she looked about two years old.

She dropped her designer handbag on the waiting chair, pushing Ivy out of the way with so much force, she almost lost her balance.

She put her hands over her mouth, "Dominic I came here as quickly as I could and-"

She frowned, as if she just realized Ivy was here.

"Are you the help? Can't you see I'm talking to my husband? Give us some privacy."

Ivy realised why the woman had looked so familiar to begin with. It was Kira Ordel, she looked so different in all that makeup.

Kira put on a sad expression, "your daughter was crying the moment she heard the news!" She shoved the little girl in Dom's face.

Ivy was shocked, her heart sinking into her stomach. His daughter? And wife? Of course he was still married, what had she been thinking.

"And what are you still doing here?" Kira frowned at Ivy, "I'm here to take care of him now, please go away."

Dom palmed his face, "leave."

Kira nodded, "you heard him, get out of here."

Ivy was in too much shock to process anything that was going on. She turned around on her heels, ready to leave when Dom's strong grip caught her wrist.

He turned to Kira, "I was talking to you, get the hell out of here, right now."
