Anakin walked out of his penthouse to his waiting driver. As expected, the paparazzi were there, their cameras flashing like a storm of strobe lights. Ignoring them, he slid into the backseat of the limousine.
As the car pulled away, he pulled out his phone and called his friend, Patrick. The phone rang a few times before Patrick picked up.
"Anakin. What's up?" Patrick sounded groggy but curious.
"Hey, Pat. You want to come out with me tonight?" Anakin asked, staring out the window at the passing city lights.
"Where to?" Patrick replied, now fully awake.
"The Neon Pulse," Anakin said, keeping his voice casual.
Patrick laughed, clearly intrigued. "You going to a club at this hour? What's the occasion?"
"No occasion," Anakin replied. "Just felt like going out."
Patrick was silent for a moment. "Alright, I'm in. I'll meet you there in twenty."
"Great. See you soon," Anakin said, ending the call.
As he put his phone away, he asked himself why he was doing this for a girl he didn't even know. Normally, he was the type of guy who didn't run after anyone. But now he was. As the limousine navigated the bustling streets of New York, Anakin couldn't shake the anticipation building within him. He didn't understand why he was so drawn to Lana, but he was determined to find out.

Lana was lost in the music, dancing with Tiara at The Neon Pulse. The bass thumped through the floor, and the neon lights created a kaleidoscope of colors around them. She was finally starting to unwind when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
She turned around and saw Rafe, her ex-boyfriend. He smiled, looking both surprised and pleased to see her.
"Lana! Long time no see," Rafe said, raising his voice to be heard over the music.
"Rafe! Wow, it's been ages!" Lana replied, equally surprised. They had broken up because they were both too busy with school, but they had remained friends.
Tiara joined the conversation, greeting Rafe with a friendly wave. "Hey, Rafe! Nice to see you!"
The three of them fell into easy conversation, reminiscing about old times and catching up on each other's lives. Rafe, always charming and full of energy, pulled them back onto the dance floor. They laughed and danced together, the familiar camaraderie making Lana feel at ease.
