The next day, Lana woke up at 6 a.m., determined to start the day right. She went for a run, letting the rhythm of her feet hitting the pavement clear her mind. After 30 minutes, she returned home, showered, and put on fresh clothes. She sat down to write in her journal and had a light breakfast. Despite everything that had happened, she felt a sense of calm and resolve.
Just as she finished her coffee, her phone rang. It was Anakin, as promised.
"Good morning, Lana," Anakin's voice was warm. "How are you feeling?"
"Better," Lana replied, smiling.
"Glad to hear that. So, a driver will pick you up at noon. Does that work?"
"Perfect. I'm looking forward to it," Lana said.
"Me too. See you soon."
At exactly noon, a sleek black car pulled up. The driver opened the door for her, and Lana slipped in, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. The drive through the city was smooth, and she marveled at the skyline. When they arrived at Anakin's building, Lana's eyes widened. The driver took her into the underground parking garage, and she felt a thrill of excitement.
Stepping out of the car, she made her way to the elevator. The ride up seemed to take forever, her heart pounding. When the doors finally opened, Anakin was waiting for her. He was dressed casually in jeans and a fitted t-shirt, looking effortlessly handsome.
"Hey," he greeted her with a warm smile, stepping forward to give her a kiss. "You look amazing."
"Thanks," Lana said, blushing. "You look great too."
"How are you doing?" Anakin asked, his eyes searching hers. "After everything that happened yesterday..."
"I'm okay," Lana said. "It was a rough day, but I'm feeling better. I'm ready to talk and figure things out."
"Good. Come on in. Let's sit down and talk."
They moved into the spacious living room, the floor-to-ceiling windows offering a stunning view of the city. Lana couldn't help but be impressed.
"Would you like something to drink?" Anakin asked.
"Just some water would be great," Lana replied.
Anakin returned with two glasses of water, and they sat together on the plush sofa.
"I've been thinking a lot about everything," Lana began. "About Tiara, Rafe, and everything that's happened. It's been a lot to process, but I've realized that I can't let it control my life. I need to move forward."
Anakin nodded, taking her hand. "I admire your strength, Lana. It's not easy to go through what you've been through. I'm here for you, whatever you need."
"Thank you," Lana said, squeezing his hand. "And I want to be here for you too. I know the publicity isn't easy, and I don't want to add to your stress."
"Which brings us to the big question," Anakin said. "Now that everyone knows who you are, what do we do? Do we reveal that we're dating, or do we keep it private for now?"
Lana took a deep breath. "I've thought about it, and I'm ready to take the big step. I don't want to hide anymore."
Anakin smiled, his eyes filled with warmth. "I'm glad to hear that. I want the same thing. We'll take it one step at a time."
They finished talking and moved into the kitchen. Anakin pulled out a variety of fresh ingredients. "I thought we could make pasta," he said, his eyes lighting up.
As they started working together, Lana couldn't help but notice how natural it felt to be with Anakin. They laughed and talked, sharing stories and getting to know each other even better. Anakin showed her how to knead the dough, his hands guiding hers in a gentle, reassuring way.
"This is actually really therapeutic," Lana said, smiling as she worked the dough.
"I know, right?" Anakin replied. "It's a great way to unwind and focus on something simple."
Once the dough was ready, they rolled it out and began cutting it into pasta shapes. Anakin boiled water and prepared a rich tomato sauce, filling the kitchen with delicious aromas.
