Anakin stood close to Lana, his eyes softening as he spoke. "I'm really happy to see you again," he said with a warm smile. "If I'm being honest, I've thought about you since our last encounter. It was refreshing to meet someone who didn't recognize me."

Lana returned the smile, her nerves apparent. "I'm happy to see you too. I didn't recognize you at first, probably because I was still a bit drunk. But I've thought about you as well. You were surprisingly nice, considering I gave you quite an attitude."

Just as Anakin was about to respond, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and frowned. "Insider New York just posted about us. The paparazzi will be here any minute."

Lana's eyes widened in shock. "Wow, that was fast. I didn't expect that."

Anakin reached out and gently touched her arm in reassurance. "Don't worry. I'll get the post deleted immediately." He quickly typed a message on his phone. "Done. But we should probably head out soon before they arrive."

Lana took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "Can you tell everyone we're friends for now if someone asks? I don't want any misunderstandings."

Anakin nodded, his expression sincere. "Of course."

He looked around, assessing the situation, then asked, "Do you need a ride home? I can take you."

Lana nodded, feeling a mix of relief and excitement. "That would be great. But I need to say goodbye to my friends first."

She quickly found Tiara and Rafe. Tiara's eyes lit up with excitement as Lana explained she was leaving with Anakin. "Girl, you better tell me everything tomorrow," Tiara said, practically bouncing with glee.

Rafe, on the other hand, tried to mask his jealousy with a forced smile. "Be safe, Lana," he said, though his eyes betrayed his unease.

Lana assured him, "I will. Don't worry." She gave Tiara a quick hug and Rafe a reassuring pat on the shoulder before returning to Anakin, who was waiting by the car.

As they drove away, Lana couldn't help but feel a blend of nerves and anticipation. The city lights blurred past, creating a surreal backdrop for the evening's unexpected turn of events. Anakin glanced at her, noticing the way her hands fidgeted slightly in her lap.

"Are you okay?" he asked gently.

"Yeah, it's just... a lot to take in," Lana admitted. "This whole night has been pretty overwhelming."

"I understand," Anakin replied. "I didn't mean to drag you into this media frenzy. It's just that... when I saw you again, I couldn't let the chance slip by."

Lana looked at him, studying his face for a moment. "This might sound strange, but why did you ask me out? I'm sure there are thousands of women who'd love to be in my position."

Anakin's expression turned serious. "Lana, I'm not interested in those women. They're after my money or my status. But you... you treated me like a regular person. That's rare, and it's something I respect and admire."

As they drove through the city, the lights looked phenomenal, casting a vibrant glow against the night sky. Lana couldn't resist capturing the moment and took a picture with her phone. Anakin noticed and offered, "Would you like me to take one of you?"

She hesitated, feeling a bit self-conscious. "No... thank you."

He gave her a reassuring smile. "Come on, it'll be great."

Finally, she agreed, handing him her phone. Anakin instructed the driver, "Michael, could you open the window, please?"

The window slid down, and Lana took the opportunity to lean out slightly. The cool night air brushed against her face, and her hair swayed in the wind. She looked radiant, her eyes sparkling with the city's reflections. Anakin snapped the photo, capturing her in a moment of pure, unguarded joy.

"You look wonderful," he said, genuinely impressed.

Lana pulled back in, her cheeks flushed from the wind and the compliment. "Thank you. I guess that was fun."

Anakin handed her phone back, a thoughtful expression on his face. "I'm really glad I got the chance to meet you again. And to take you on a date."

Lana looked at him, feeling a mix of emotions—nervousness, excitement, and a growing sense of connection. "Me too, Anakin."
