The clock ticked a little bit slower while I'm anticipating the 5 pm meeting time at Leila's restaurant for our beach vacay.
We planned this last minute because we found out that our schedules matched each other's vacancy so ayon, we thought of having a quick beach getaway. For a breather rin, masyado na kaming busy sa mga trabaho.
I wanted to get a fresh view of the cafe so I sat on a corner table with my laptop while managing the cafe's budget for this month.
The smell of cappucino that my staff just brought over to my table distracted me for a while so I set my laptop aside and took a few sips from the mug while secretly watching the people who came to my cafe.
It's nice getting to see this view, once in a while. Nakaka-refresh seeing how people come here for comfort while working or studying, or you know, just relaxing. Makes me feel that my business has a purpose not just to me but towards other people.
I reached for the sugar sprinkler from the side of the table and added a bit to my coffee, just to make it sweeter. It tastes a bit bland.
I got startled when someone stopped in front of my table, so I lifted my head up to face that person.
"Hey, almost all tables are occupied. Mind if I sit here?" He asked.
"There are free tables left." I said, resisting him.
"Well, for a guy who wants to make friends, there are no tables left except for this one." He said, making me slowly shake my head.
"Fine, please sit."
He looks harmless naman, and he looks decent. He even smiled after sitting down.
"Doing work?" He spoke.
"Yeah, so I would greatly appreciate silence."
I really am not in the mood to talk but I don't wanna be rude so I replied.
"I can't blame you, this cafe is so cozy and peaceful."
My ears were clapping again when I heard that. Nakakatuwa talaga tuwing kinocompliment nila without knowing na I'm the owner.
"You always here?"
"Nah, sometimes lang, kapag stressed sa work." I chuckled.
He looked over the counter then averted his gaze back to me. "Hold on, hindi pa pala ako nakaka-order ng coffee." He got up then headed to the counter.

I've been wanting to leave earlier kasi ang daldal nitong lalaki. Doctor rin pala ito sa hospital kung saan nagtatrabaho si Theno, I wonder if they know each other.
I gave him a fake name because that's what I do when I don't want to have any more communication with someone, especially when we just met.
He's usually cracking jokes from time to time, making me laugh a little. Itinabi ko na nga ang laptop ko kasi salita siya ng salita, nadidistract ako sa trabaho.
All of a sudden, a towering figure stood beside me followed by a voice sounding like thunder. "Viana..."
I looked up to see Theno's face with not a single emotion etched on it. Just a blank expression.
"Fernandez! What are you doing here?" The doctor named 'Andy' asked him.
So they do know each other. No wonder, iisang ospital eh.
