"Ash just asked me out on a date!"

Mickey turned around to face an ecstatic looking Mouse who had came running up to her after searching for awhile and finally finding her.

"Wait-" Mickey smiled proudly. The boy had become head over heels for the Honrada girl already. "He did? Really?"

All he had been talking about with Mickey was Mouse. When the girl was around, he'd always ask Mickey how Mouse was, how she was doing and normal stuff like that. He was in it deep.

He had implied to his best friend that he really liked Mouse and hopefully the two could become something more over time. Take things slow and see where they lead to. He wanted to someday think he could be hers and she could be his girlfriend.

Mickey thought that it was fun and cute to see her best friend so infatuated with a girl like Mouse. It was obvious, his crush on her, but he tried to play it cool most of the time.

But Mickey knew him better than that. She knew him better than anyone else.

She knew that they had kissed the night of the Halloween party because Ash had told her all about it, claiming that it was amazing and perfect.

"Well, he didn't really ask, but he basically, pretty much did because he asked if my moms would ever let me go out again after they were mad at me since I missed curfew. But like I told him, I'm positive they will because we're trying to work on some more trust stuff. And- anyway he wants us, like just the two of us, me and him, alone, to go bowling. Tomorrow night."

"At Millwood Lane?" Mickey questioned with a smile and Mouse confirmed. "Oh, yeah. They host cosmic hour at seven." She gasped and gave the Honrada girl a knowing smile. "Girl, he is taking you out on a date."

"Okay, so I wasn't just making it all up in my head or thinking it was something it's not? Cause in his words he said, 'It's a date."

"Nope. That boy is gonna take you out!" The Diaz girl squealed, surprised that her best friend had finally found the courage to actually ask the girl he liked out. He had actually talked to Mickey about it earlier and she wished him luck, hoping that Mouse felt the same way that he did about her. "I can't believe it. Alright, I'm gonna need every detail by the end of the night. Got it?"

"Sure. But isn't he just gonna tell you himself? Your his best friend."

"Yeah." The taller girl shrugged. "But still. So what? I want to hear your side and your experience. Your take on it is something I need as well. Plus, your perspective is probably gonna be way different and better described than his."

Mouse nodded, "Right. Totally got it."

"And you're my new best friend now, too. I'll always want to hear about your day or anything or whatever you want to say and just talk about."

The Honrada girl smiled widely, biting her lip to keep the smile at bay as to not freak the Diaz girl out by how happy she was to have someone call her a real and true friend. "Well I have to keep myself contained until later on. So I will see you, after class."

Mouse had apologized earlier in the moment for ranting to Mickey nonstop without really letting her get a word in before but she needed to tell someone.

And who better than the best friend of the boy she was crushing that now also just so happened to be her new friend too?

Mickey brought a hand up to place her fingers against her forehead, using two of them to salute the smaller girl as she went to turn down the hall to head to her next class. "Don't forget, I need all the deets!"
