[Monday, June 2nd]
Mickey was so not ready, nor prepared to have to get up early again pretty much everyday for the summer. But because of her grades, along with the rest of her friends, falling and not being where they should, she just had to be forced into attending summer school.
"Ugh! Why? Why us? Why me?" Mickey let the words roll off her tongue with a small pout. She was annoyed after having been dropped off in front of the school, her mother and Cassie both making her take an umbrella with her so she wouldn't get wet or sick from the rainy weather.
Which was just an added bonus.
It was supposed to be their summer days. A hot summer. Why the hell was it raining when nobody wanted it to?
"Oh, my God. I can't believe this is happening." Imogen said as Mickey had been the last one to join them in standing and staring at the entrance of the school.
"It is." Tabby sighed. "And the gloomy weather is definitely fitting my mood."
Mickey nodded in agreement. She pulled a face and huffed out a semi large breath, holding a tight grip on her open plain red umbrella by the handle.
"My mom started law school today, and I'm trapped in a nightmare."
"Well, at least it's not juvie." Noa answered since it didn't seem as bad as what she's had to go through with the whole situation with her mother.
"And it's not a Disney cruise with my moms."
"I'm not gonna say mine, cause what I'm think is beyond me right now." Mickey then looked over at mouse who was beside her, "However, I'd actually like and prefer to be on said cruise even with your moms there."
Mouse smiled and chuckle because she knew that the girl was being one hundred percent serious. And she would be able to tell if she wasn't being genuine.
"Summer school, a fate worse than death. Almost." The Haworthe girl corrected herself but Mickey thought otherwise.
"No, I'd say it's right up there with it. Side by side." She motioned with her hands. "They're pretty much running in the same race."
Tabby rolled her eyes with a grin at the girl, loving just how much she got to see Mickey dread every second of it. "Silver lining playbook, at least we'll all be together?"
The girls locked arms and began walking the pathway that lead up to the school doors, Mickey walking slightly unevenly since she was unbalanced by having to step half on the cement and her other food also being on the wet grass since there obviously wasn't enough room for all six of them to fit on the walkway.
They sighed and once inside, they looked where they were needed to go and upon noticing something immediately, Imogen pulled them all over to what she seen first.
It was a board that had two lists of names on them.
"Wait. What the hell?"
"It... It looks like there are two sections prepping to retake those shitty Keystone Exams." Noa observed.
"And we're all in section A." Tabby pointed out.
"Hate that letter."
"Same." Mouse, Noa, Tabby and Mickey replied at the same time. Showing that they all obviously agreed with her.
Mickey was looking over at the other list, and just as she seen Imogen's name on it, she also spotted some other familiar ones and immediately stood upright from leaning against the wall that the board was set up on, pulling a face as she tried to make sure that she was seeing what she thought she was clearly.
