The day of the interview with Caesar Flickerman, Lilith is woken up early. Her prep team wastes no time to ready her for the interview. After hours of picking, tugging, and adjusting, Lilith sits in a chair staring at her reflection as she has done many times before.
Her hair is pinned up with small, silver hair pieces. Her makeup is fierce. Sharp black eyeliner paints her eyes, and a deep cheek contour makes her look deadly. Her lips have the boldest color of them all on them, a deep red. Lilith personally doesn't like the red on her, but on her Capitol persona it's perfect.
"You are going to just love what I have for you today!" Julia exclaims as she rushes into the room with a clothing bag.
"Don't I always," Lilith comments while smiling.
"This one is different," Julia says while unzipping the bag. She reveals a gorgeous dress, white of course. It has a high neckline, dramatic sleeves, and a large slit up the side. "This time, I have beautiful black tights for you to wear, along with long black gloves,"
Lilith is speechless. All of Julia's gowns have been stunning, but this one takes the trophy. Julia helps Lilith get into the tights, and then the dress. Once it's on, Lilith can't stop staring in the mirror.
"Here," Julia says, helping Lilith slide the gloves onto her fingers. She puts a pair of silver heels in front of Lilith.
The heels are tall, making Lilith noticeably taller. Julia fusses with the sleeves until they are called out for the interview.
"Good luck," Julia whispers in Lilith's ear.
"Thank you. For everything," Lilith whispers back. Julia just smiles sadly and sends Lilith off.
Lilith is escorted to her seat next to Silas. He looks dashing in his silver and black suit. He smiles over at his sister, and she smiles back.
"Welcome, welcome, to the 75th Annual Hunger Games, and the Third Quarter Quell," Caesar appears on stage, welcoming the audience. "I'm sure many of you are in a hurry to get this started, and to hear from your beloved victors/tributes!" He awkwardly chuckles at that last part.
As usual, he begins with District One. Cashmere and Gloss come up with a sob story about how they love the people of the Capitol and are sad to leave them. She quickly catches on to what they were trying to do: stop the games. She must follow suit.
"From District Two, we have Lilith Monroe!" Caesar announces. Lilith smiles and walks up to the host. "My, my, you are looking great this evening, Lilith. This is something different from your all-white looks."
"Thank you, Caesar. You look great, as always. As for the slight change in color scheme, my stylist and I agreed that I have worn white for far too long," Lilith says.
"Well, I believe it is a refreshing change, don't you?" He gestures to the audience, who seem to agree. "Now, Lilith, how are you handling all of this?"
Lilith sighs, "Honestly, I don't really think I have processed any of this. Realistically, I know my life is, yet again, being put at risk, but I don't think I feel it."
"I mean, this is a very sad time for you, I'm sure. Is there anything else you would like to comment on?"
"Yes, there is something. As victors, we were promised paradise, but now that's all being taken away. This makes me furious. I want to keep what I was promised," Lilith says. She takes a breath, and before she can stop herself, her mouth opens again. "I also want someone to know, that I won't stop fighting. I will do whatever it takes to find a place where we can be happy, and I will make sure that no one can take it away."
"That is very touching, thank you for your time," Caesar ends the interview. He smiles at Lilith, to which she nods her head before walking back to her seat.
