Lilith stares at Melinda with betrayal and confusion. What is she doing? And why doesn't she look like a little girl anymore?

"What is going on?" Lilith questions.

"It wasn't real," Melinda answers vaguely.

"What wasn't real?" Lilith demands.

"Anything. I'm not a little girl from a District. I don't know Finnick. My family didn't abandon me. It was all a lie," Melinda explains.

"What is wrong with you?" Lilith says in awe. "Did you get some sort of kick out of that?"

"No. It was all to get you to agree with Snow. To get you to do whatever is necessary," Melinda says. She sounds and looks like she has zero remorse for what she did. "Now that you're a peacekeeper again, you have some rough patches ahead of you."

"Like what?" Lilith looks away from Melinda. She can't stand to look at the liar anymore.

Melinda doesn't say anything. Instead, she walks up to Lilith and grabs her arm. Lilith tries to shove her away, but she's too late. Melinda injects something in her arm. Lilith begins to feel weak. Then, everything turns black.

When Lilith wakes up, she's strapped down to a metal table. She tries to move, but she is strapped down. She begins to freak out. She looks around the room, seeing the pristine white walls and equipment. Melinda enters the room and walks over to Lilith.

"What are you doing?" Lilith asks weakly.

"Changing you," Melinda answers.

Suddenly, images are projected above her. She stares at them. One is money, the other shows friendship. Money is labeled 'A' and friendship is labeled 'B'.

"A or B?" Melinda asks.

"What?" Lilith mumbles.

"A or B?" Melinda repeats.

"B," Lilith says slowly. Lilith is then shocked by the table. The volts shoot through her body, leaving agony behind them. "What the hell?" She yells.

A new pair of images is shown above Lilith. One is of her parents, labeled 'A', and the other is of Silas, labeled 'B'. She stares at Silas's image. She doesn't want to see this.

"A or B?" Melinda asks once more.

"B," Lilith chokes out. More shocks are sent through her body. She cries out in pain.

This continues for quite some time. She is shown two images, and whenever she picks the "wrong" one, she is shocked. For a while, she picks the "wrong" one. The shocks hurt more and more each time. The volts are turned up slightly after every shock.

Lilith is so tired. She can't do this anymore. She wants to stop. But, finally, she picks the "right" one, and there's no shock. She sighs in relief. She now mostly picks the "right" one, occasionally picking the "wrong" one. But every time she picks  the "wrong" one, she is reminded why she can't pick that one.

She begins to associate the pain of the shock with rebel-like behavior and thinking. This conditions her to think more and more like a Capitol citizen. This continues for days, until she is only picking the "right" images.

"You are ready," Melinda says one day.

Lilith stares at the ceiling with a blank expression. The restraints are taken off of her, but she doesn't move. She just continues to stare at the ceiling.

"Get up," Melinda orders. Lilith obeys and sits up very straight. "Follow me."

Lilith follows Melinda without question. Melinda leads her to another room. Lilith is dressed in a Peacekeeper uniform. She has swords strapped to her back, and a gun in her hands. Her hair is pulled into a slicked back, low bun. She wears a serious expression on her face as she lets Melinda ready her.

"Come along," Melinda says once Lilith's ready. Lilith follows her through the halls. She is brought to President Snow's office. "Sit."

Lilith obediently sits in the chair across from the President's desk. She patiently waits for him to arrive. When he does arrive, he sits in his chair and looks at Lilith closely. He then breaks out into an evil grin, knowing his plan worked.

"She's ready, Sir," Melinda informs him.

"I see that. Get her ready for her first mission," President Snow says, his grin still spread across his face.

Lilith has become a mindless shell of a person. She looks like Lilith, but she has no memory of the girl she was before. The only thing she knows is the Capitol way. She doesn't remember or even care to try to remember who she used to be. She only wants to please the President. And please him she will.
