As the trio of girls walk through the jungle, Katniss carries the spool, while Lilith and Johanna walk on either side of her with their weapons drawn. They get to a spot where the ground if very uneven, making it hard to walk through.
Lilith holds Katniss's bow while Johanna helps her walk across. Once past the hard to navigate area, Katniss snatches her bow back immediately. Lilith rolls her eyes as the bow gets ripped out of her hand.
"Come on," Johanna urges the girls. "I want to put as much distance between me and this beach as possible. Frying is not how I want to go."
Lilith snickers at Johanna's words, then Katniss stops walking and tugs on the wire.
"There's something.." Katniss mumbles as she tugs on the wire more. That feeling Lilith had earlier comes back. She knew something was going to go wrong.
Katniss pulls even more, staring off into the darkness. Lilith grips her swords tightly, preparing to fight. They are about to be ambushed, and Johanna and Lilith have to make sure Katniss is safe.
Just as Katniss is about to draw an arrow, Johanna whacks her on the head, knocking her to the ground. Johanna pulls a small blade from her belt, slicing Katniss's forearm with it to get her tracker out. Lilith swipes some blood with her hand, and smears it on Katniss's neck.
"Stay down," Johanna hisses in Katniss's ear. Johanna then launches an axe in the direction of the two tributes with a yell.
Unfortunately, the tributes are able to dodge the axe, and Johanna and Lilith begin scrambling away from their enemies. They sprint through the trees as quickly as possible, leading the two tributes away from Katniss and the lightning tree.
"We should split up. Make it harder for them," Lilith says breathlessly.
"Yeah, okay," Johanna says through her own pants.
They suddenly veer off into different directions, both still leading the two tributes away from Katniss and the lightning tree.
Lilith runs as fast as her legs with carry her, wanting to put enough distance between her and Katniss before she faces the tribute that had followed her. Once she decides she's far enough, she grips her swords and turns around. She sees a big, bulky man running full speed towards her.
She mentally curses at the sight of the tribute that chose to follow her. She has her doubts about this fight, but puts on her old Career Mode, and prepares to fight.
When the man reaches her, she can see he's carrying a spear. He stops in front of her, staring to circle around her instead. Lilith stands still, watching his every move, waiting for him to attack.
The man suddenly lunges towards her. She quickly reacts by moving out of the way, swinging her swords and slicing his back. He yells in pain, but turns his attention back to Lilith. He eyes her up and down, before yelling fiercely and attacking again.
Lilith is fast, but not fast enough. He shoves her to the ground, immediately pinning her to the ground and shoving his spear against her throat. Lilith drops her swords and her hands go to the spear on her neck. It starts to choke her, and she tries her hardest to push the spear away from her.
She's about to give up, but then she sees a sharp rock next to her. One of her hands reaches for it, grabs it, and smashes it against the man's head. The shock and pain from the rock cause the man to release the spear, allowing Lilith to get up. She grabs one of her swords and wastes no time in driving it through his chest. A canon fires, signaling his death.
So far, this plan has gone nothing but wrong. Now, Lilith needs to find Finnick. If things went so wrong for her, she has a feeling they went wrong for him too.
She grabs her swords and starts running through the jungle, desperate to find Finnick. She can't lose him. Not after Silas.
Suddenly, lightning strikes and Lilith spots something flying up towards the dome. Katniss. She's going to destroy the arena. Lilith speeds up immediately, needing to get to the tree so she can be taken out of the arena. Her exhaustion is covered up by adrenaline as she sprints faster than she thought she could.
As pieces of the arena fall, fires begin burning throughout the brush and trees. Lilith has to dodge falling debris as she moves quickly to the tree.
Lilith stares at the sky, seeing a hovercraft coming to collect bodies from near the tree. She moves her legs even faster, knowing she is about to miss her chance. Suddenly, Lilith is knocked onto her stomach. She hadn't seen a piece of falling debris, and it knocked her down.
She lifts her head from the ground, trying to do the same to her body, but she can't. She looks back and sees her foot caught on one of the wires. She desperately pulls on her leg, trying to get herself out. Then, she hears the hovercraft leaving. She looks upwards.
"No, no, no!" She yells loudly, harshly pulling on her leg. She manages to untangle her foot, and tries to run once more, but trips and falls. She stares at the broken dome, seeing nothing but an empty sky. Now, she knows she missed her chance. If Finnick's on that hovercraft, she may never see him again.
None of this was supposed to happen. She hangs her head in defeat, and waits to be inevitably taken to the Capitol.
