Minjae sat by Mingyu's bedside quietly. His hope was starting to fall. He wished that he'd kept Mingyu for a bit longer. Maybe if he had, Mingyu would be okay. He wouldn't be in a comma.
"Mr. Minjae, how are you doing today?" Minjae sighed.
"Shouldn't you be asking that about him?" I glimpsed toward Mingyu. The doctor smiled lightly.
"I know you're worried but he's fine. His brain function is completely fine."
"What about his heart? He had a transplant several years ago." The doctor nodded.
"His heart is just fine." Minjae sighed in frustration.
"Then why isn't he waking up?"
"I'm not sure. I wish I had an answer but I don't. Originally, I just thought his body was healing itself but now I'm not sure."
"Will he ever wake up?" The doctor glimpsed at Mingyu for a moment.
"I'm not sure. I wish I could tell you more. You should go home and get some rest. There's nothing you can do here. I will call you if we find anything out." Minjae shook his head. "Listen. I understand that you care for him and you're worried but you will be no help to anyone if you don't rest. Now go." Minjae couldn't argue anymore. He sighed one last time before standing up and leaving. Mingyu had been in a coma for several days. After the accident, the company decided to leave the fans in the dark for the time being. Minjae thought it was a bad idea but they hadn't given him any say in the situation. All he could do was sit by Mingyu's bedside and wait for him to wake up. He wasn't just worried. He was scared. After losing the rest of Mingyu's members, Minjae was hurt beyond repair. Mingyu had been the only thing that kept him going. Now he was losing him too. Minjae didn't know what to do or how to feel. The love of my life was dead. His best friend was almost dead. His parents were dead. For the first time since Mingyu's accident, he felt utterly helpless.
