Manasa POV
I slowly opened my eyes and grabbed my phone to see that it was only 5:14 a.m. Just five minutes had passed since I last checked the time. Why isn't the time moving fast today? I wanted it to be 6 in the evening already, so I could meet Dev. What will we talk about and do? Oh my god, I can't wait to meet him. I closed my eyes again, remembering his beautiful smile from yesterday. His smile is so mesmerizing.
I looked at my phone again and saw that it was 6 a.m. I jumped out of bed, unable to sleep any longer. I went to the kitchen and found my mom making tea. She turned to me with a shocked expression.
"What are you doing here this early?" she asked, surprised. I never woke up before 8 a.m. under any circumstances.
"Nothing, I just couldn't sleep today," I said, sitting on the counter next to the stove and looking into the vessel where the tea was brewing.
My mom gave me a suspicious look, and I knew I needed to change the subject.
"Teach me how to make tea," I said, looking at her. She seemed even more shocked. I knew how to cook, but I didn't know how to make tea because I didn't drink it.
"Why do you want to learn?" she asked, turning off the stove and grabbing a cloth.
"Just because," I said as she poured tea into two glasses.
"Hmm, I think you should learn how to make coffee because Dev likes coffee. His mom told me yesterday," she teased, making me blush.
"Maa! Stop teasing!" I blushed and looked at the floor.
"Ah, young love. It's so sweet. But seriously, learning to make coffee isn't a bad idea if you want to impress him," Mom said, smiling.
"Well, maybe I will. But for now, show me the tea," I said playfully.
"Alright, let's start with tea. It's simpler, and who knows? Maybe one day you'll start drinking it too," Mom said, laughing.
As my mom showed me the steps to make tea, I couldn't help but think about the evening and meeting Dev. The hours seemed to drag on, but with my mom's company, it felt a little better.
The clock struck 4, and I went to my room to get ready. I opened my wardrobe and took out my two best dresses: one was a floral top with navy blue and the other was a cute white one-piece. After thinking for almost half an hour, I decided to wear a lavender chikankari kurti with jeans, as Rachitha said I looked like an angel in it. Since I wanted to impress my to-be husband, I wore it and paired it with oxidized jhumkas and bangles.
I applied the perfume I got last week, which smelled like a fresh breeze. Giving myself a final look, I walked out of my room. My mom was sitting on the sofa watching *Anupama*. Her attention turned to me as I approached.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Just to MG Road for shopping," I lied confidently.
"What shopping?" my mom asked suspiciously.
