Saku cleared his throat. "So, can I have your phone number? Y'know, to keep in touch and all that?" He fidgeted slightly, his fingers tapping a rhythm against the table as he awaited Shoji's response. He took out his phone and kept it there for a while.
Shoji paused for a moment, considering Saku's request. With a casual shrug and a warm smile, he nodded. "Sure," he agreed, reaching for his phone and sliding it across the table toward Saku.
Saku's face lit up with gratitude as he accepted the offer
Saku's eyes fell upon Shoji's open notes app. In one swift motion, he scanned the entire entry, his eyes moving rapidly over the words as they painted a picture of Shoji's mindset.
"Entry 23, my mental state hasn't been so good lately. I've been experiencing insomnia and weird dreams. It all started when I met 'him'. Though it was only a day ago, I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or if he has something to do-"
The words hung in the air, a silent echo of Shoji's hidden anxieties. Saku's heart skipped a beat as he absorbed the weight of Shoji's confession, his mind racing with a flurry of emotions. Saku felt a tingling sensation in his brain, feeling some sort of connection to Shoji.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still as Saku tried to comprehend what he had just read. Was Shoji in danger? Was the mysterious 'him' Saku himself?
Despite the urgency pulsing through his veins, Saku forced himself to remain composed, burying the rising tide of panic beneath a display of calmness.
With a determined nod, Saku tore his gaze away from the screen. Instead he realized he had been staring at the screen for way too long. He swiped away and went back on track to his main task. Saku Felt as if Shoji might be staring at him in panic or worry that he read something he wasn't supposed to.
Once Saku finished inputting his details, he passed the phone back to Shoji, Excited that he can now talk to Shoji anywhere.
