Chapter 4: The Storm & The Birth of The Dragon Thief

When Vera opened the doors of the Main Hall and walked inside, she quickly stopped in her tracks when Agnar walked up to her and held out a rose to her, causing her to look at him with confusion and disbelief as everyone in the Main Hall was watching the two expectantly including Vera's parents and the Chief.

Vera: Agnar, what are you doing...?

Agnar: Vera, uh, will you allow me to court you?

Vera: ( as she looks at Agnar with disbelief and slight disgust: ) Uh...

Agnar: ( whispers: ) Don't worry, your parents already said you could.

Vera: Excuse me, they did what? ( With her hands on her hips: ) You're joking right?

Vera's Father: ( a bit warningly: ) Vera...-

Vera: ( calmly with an annoyed expression: ) Excuse me, everyone, ( with slight venom: )Agnar ( calmly: ) but I need to go rest for tomorrow. Buenas noches.

Vera then walked out of the Main Hall, leaving everyone surprised because of how she didn't accept Agnar's courting proposal like they were expecting. She walked all the way to the woods to Estrella's cave.

The three legged night fury looked at her human friend with concern when the girl walked into the cave upset and silently cursing under her breath in spanish, causing Estrella to walk up to Vera with a worried expression.

Vera: ( to herself: ) Out of all the things, after every hurtful word and how he and the rest of the village treated me, Agnar thought I would want to- Ugh! I'm so sick of this village. ( Thinks to herself for a few minutes before turning to Estrella ) ( To Estrella: ) Alright, girl. Tomorrow, if plan A doesn't work, plan B is that we all leave this place, all six of us, we'll leave this village and never come back. I will not risk you or the others' losing your lives to this tribe because of me. You five are the closest things I have to an actual family, and the only ones that accept me for me.

Estrella purred at Vera as she gently nudged her head to Vera's side with a worried expression, and Vera gently pets the night fury's head as she knew what the dragon was worried about.

Vera: Don't worry, girl. You'll get through this, together, as a family, a strange family, but a family.

( The next day, at the arena. )

Vera stood alone at the entrance to inside the arena's ring with her clawed gloves while everyone in the village was waiting for her to walk into the ring. Vera glanced up, and she saw Estrella hiding on a high ledge above the arena, waiting for Vera signal in case she and the five dragons needed to do plan B. She was about to go into the ring, when Agnar walked up to her, causing her to stop in her tracks and turned to look at him with a slightly annoyed look.

Agnar: Hey, Vera. Good luck with that dragon.

Vera: It's not me you should be worried about.

Agnar: Listen, Vera, about my proposal... Can you at least think about it.

Vera: ( quickly, with a stern look: ) No. I will not think about it. Because I wouldn't dream of being with someone like you.

Vera then walked away from Agnar and entered the ring, and the crowd quickly roared her name as soon as she stepped into the ring and left Agnar speechless out of shock. She then took a deep breath and adjusted her clawed gloves slightly as she spoke while looking at GlimmerSpring, who was staring at Vera from within her cell while Puds, Firecutter, and SkyFalcon watched from their cells with worried looks, Firecutter made a small worried whine as the young speed stinger was worried about what Vera was going to do.
