Trigger warning!!!!! Eating disorder
———————————————————————El frowned while flipping through her magazine at the lunch table as she waited for Mike and her friends.
They're so skinny...
"Hey! Hey Jane!" El heard a voice call out.
El turned around to see a brunette girl smiling big at her.
The girl put her backpack on the table and sat down next to el.
"Um... hi..." el muttered shyly.
"Hello! My names Emma, but I already know you're Jane." The girl smiled.
"Y-Yeah..." el said, confused on why one of the most popular girls was talking to her.
Emma pouted. "Awww you're looking through magazines! You wanna look like them don't you?" Emma said mockingly but el seemed to have missed that.
El looked down and nodded.
Emma grabbed els hand.
"Don't worry, I know how you can look like them, Jane." Emma smiled.
El perked up. "How?"
"It's easy! Only eat once every 2 days, something tiny like a yogurt or a banana. Skip meals, but if you do eat just take two of your fingers and shove them down your throat. Works like a charm!" Emma smirked.
"Okay." El look a mental note to remember all of that.
"But isn't that dangerous?" El asked quietly.
Emma sighed.
"Do you wanna be skinny?" Emma asked.
El nodded quickly.
"Good. Then listen to me" Emma smiled.
"Thank y-"
"Uhhh what are you doing here?" Max crossed her arms.
Emma got up quickly.
"Oh nothing! We were just talking about school work." Emma smiled and walked away.
"Bye Jane! Listen to what I told you!" Emma winked at Jane.
The party sat down.
"That was weird." Lucas said with narrowed eyes.
"Yeah el, what were you doing with Emma? You know what she's like..." Mike asked el.
"She just sat down and we started talking about school." El muttered.
"That seems unlikely..." Will said.
"Look, it's just what happened." El said, pushing her lunch in front of her
The party stopped talking about it, knowing she wanted to switch the subject. But Mike knew el, and knew something was wrong.
I gotta keep an eye on her.
♥︎
El had been doing what Emma had told her for a week now, and Mike was greatly concerned.
Her cheeks were sunken in, her hair was slowly thinning, and her eyes were red from crying.
Mike wasn't an idiot, he knew what was happening to her. But he didn't know what to do about it or why she was doing this.
