The entire town was engulfed in a battle worthy of hell. The living against the undead. As the prince, I had to make sure we would prevail.
All of us made sure that the civilians and their homes weren't attacked and invaded. But alas, such task wasn't as perfectly executed. Some of those monsters had managed to invade a few homes, but the knights and I drove them back swiftly killing them and had the civilians protected in other houses. It was a good thing that the tavern was grand in its size.
Revali soared through the skies with unparalleled agility. He shot arrow after arrow that pierced through row of undead soldiers. He passed through and sent them fly with the gust of wind that he brought. His battle prowess never ceased to amaze me. Some undead archers fired arrows at him, and in unbelievable act, he grabbed those same arrows and fired them back at them, killing them instantly. With such manoeuvre, Revali would never run out of arrows.
Mipha's magic did devastating wonders against the enemy. She wielded water as if it was a part of herself. Trapping some monsters in bubbles and using water pressure to crush them, driving and pushing them away, etc, she appeared to be a goddess of aquatics. One that showed a fearsome threat to Astor and his forces.
My beloved Zelda, Ravio, and I battled side by side, crushing every soldier that came to us. A superior number of soldiers seemed to come at us. But that didn't stop us from sending these monsters back to the grave they came from. Zelda rapidly jumped from one place to another, claiming their undead lives, one after the other. All of those actions while remaining close to me. I fended off the monsters that came to my side just fine, but she remembered her role as being my shadow. Wrapped in a layer of holy light, my blade and I passed through the enemy like it was water. A giant skeleton tried to stomp Zelda and I, but we escape its foot with ease. Zelda jumped onto its ribcage and aimed truthfully at his dark eye. It entirely fell, but the head remained active. I swung my sword at the great pile of bones that started to rise again. An arched beam of light turned it into ashes along with other monsters nearby. Zelda and I reunited, we were reading to face the next wave of attack. Ravio jumped in midair and swung the Master Sword. The undead beasts fell in dust before they had time to reach us.
"Thank you." I nodded to Ravio. He seemed very exhausted. "Are you all right?"
"I-I'm fine." He didn't look fine. His face was contorted with more than just exhaustion. His expression was the one of someone carrying a heavy weight in the literal form. "I'm going for Astor!"
"Wait!" Zelda looked at him. "Not alone, you're not! We've got to regroup—"
"I'll be fine!" He shouted as he sliced an oncoming monster toward him. He wasn't too convincing. And the way he was holding onto the Master Sword, it was as if his life depended on it. "I'm the Master Sword's wielder, remember?"
"That doesn't make you invincible." Zelda retorted. "If you're going after him, then we'll go together!"
"I said I'll be fine!" He dashed through, leaving facing a new horde of monsters. The fool... he was trying way too hard to be a hero! His behavior has been weird for some time, but this is just foolishness! Zelda and I looked at each other and had an immediate acknowledgement. We couldn't let him die, especially by Astor's hand.
We followed him as we cut through many of Astor's forces. He kept on cutting through the enemy, but something became evident. His moves were sluggish, heavy. It was as if his sword weighted 10 times its usual state. His behavior wasn't improving. What in the name of the Goddesses was happening to him?
"ASTOR!!" He barked at the dark mage. "Your neck will be mine!"
"Ravio, wait!" I arrived with Zelda. "We'll do this together!"
