The scene begins with a flashback as a town is crowded by soldiers. A young Magneto and Professor X sit on a bar and share a couple of drinks.

Magneto: God, you're suicidal, or sentimental, maybe. Though either'll kill you.

Professor X: Would we be here helping the survivors if we cared about staying alive? We care about others. As do most, I believe. And if indeed mutants exist...

Magneto: They don't.

He faces forwards as he looks at him from the corner of his eye.

Professor X: If they exist, why wouldn't they use their abilities to make the world better for all people?

Magneto: People don't want to be better. They're already the best everything.

The Professor takes a drink of his beer as he smirks at Magneto.

Magneto: Best tribe, best faith, they even fight over who's the best victim. These are tense times. Be mindful not to sound like you actually are a mutant.

Professor X: What if I were?

Magneto goes for a drink but stops and stares forward with a serious expression.

Magneto: Run and hide before someone starts dreaming of camps.

The Professor uses his telepathic ability on Magneto.

Professor X: I'm a mutant. Telepathy. Mind reader. Likely can control them, too. Bend their will.

Magneto is surprised by the revelation. He then looks around making sure no one hears.

Magneto: Metal. It bends to my will.

Professor X: Have you met others?

Magneto shakes his head.

Professor X: I've met several. Many alone. Scared. And they will be feared.

Magneto: Hated.

Professor X: Not if we guide them, help them cherish their gifts, help the world see all we share by being different.

Magneto: Alas, my new friend, in my experience, minds are far harder to bend than metal.

Rogue: Erik?

Magneto hears Rogue's voice, confused, he stands up and turns around as he looks out the window of the bar. All of the sudden, the scenery changes as waves appears and the clear sky turns dark and stormy.

Rogue: Erik!

Magneto: Rogue.

Magneto holds his head as it begins to spin.

Magneto: Charles, how shockingly far you've fallen, yet also so predictably.

They go back to their perspective ages as they both stare outside the window at the roaring waves.

Professor X: Welcome to your mind, Magnus.

Magneto looks at the Professor.

Magneto: This is a violation.

Professor X: You declared war against mankind. Turned my X-Men against each other. Allowed your torment to flood the world. And Logan... Y/n.

Magneto: He meant to murder me.

Professor X: What about Y/n! Too many have died, Magnus.

Magneto stares back at the now cracked window.
