Kirk and Josh padded along the hallway, and stopped outside their hotel room door. Kirk took the key card, and Josh turned the handle, entering the room. Kirk saw Josh flinch, and his blue eyes stare at the handle.
"Problem? Sticky hands or something?"
Josh motioned for Kirk to enter the room, and once inside with the door closed, Josh put his hands on Kirk's arms, staring at him.
"They were here Kirk," Josh said. "They made a mistake...they opened the door bare handed...and..."
"Psychometry?"
"Yes," Josh said, relieved that Kirk already understood. "Their thoughts imprinted on the door handle, the impression I feel is one of...caution...but nothing more specific. The door handle has so much use it's like hearing a message through static on the radio or TV."
"Interesting," Kirk said. "I studied some psionic or esper stuff in college, but I never connected psychometry...knowing facts or events relating to someone through an object...to telepathy. But it makes sense that the thoughts would imprint on an object."
"Esper?" Josh said, sitting on his bed, and looking at Kirk. "Esper me this..."
Kirk chuckled, and pulled his ballcap off, throwing it jokingly at Josh. Josh took his ballcap off, and threw it on the desk. Josh sat back on the bed, sighing as he did.
Kirk sat down on the chair at his desk, and soon heard Josh snoring lightly. Kirk looked at Josh, who had turned on his right side, at an angle on the bed, still in his green sweats.
Wow that must take a lot out of him.
Suddenly realizing, Kirk smiled...the energy and protein drinks. Undoubtedly Josh had to replenish the energy he consumed with his mind tease. Yawning, Kirk stood, and walked over to this own bed, and slumped down, soon sleeping. Kirk welcomed the unconsciousness...the rest, the nothingness.

Kirk awoke to the sound and smell of brewing coffee.
"It's 'bout time you got up Kirkster," Josh said, sitting at his desk. "I was going to wake you at ten in the a.m."
Kirk yawned loudly with a gasp.
"What time is it now?"
"About nine thirty in the morning."
"Great. Wake me when it's tomorrow."
Josh got up from his desk, and came over to the bed, pulling back the covers.
"Get up Kirk," Josh commanded. "Can't sleep all day. We should leave."
Kirk groaned, and sat up. Josh smiled and nodded.
"Okay then."
Kirk got up from the tangle of sheets he had knotted himself in while he slept, and stood.
"I slept in your clothes."
"No big deal. We need to just leave after we wake up."
"Take our stuff?"
"Yep, hit the road."
"I need to go back to the homeless shelter, get a few things I forgot."
"Well...okay, just so long as we're out of here."
Kirk walked to his bag, and rummaged around, finding his Old Spice grooming kit.
"Freshen up?" Josh asked rhetorically.
"Yeah," Kirk said, heading for the bathroom with the kit. "What about you?"
"I'm fine. I took a shower and spanked the monkey when I got up."
