N awakened to find himself alone in Uzi's bed, the sunlight streaming in through the window. Panic gripped him for a moment until he spotted a note on the nightstand:

"Took Cyn to the park. Didn't want to wake you up. Be back soon. - Uzi"

He exhaled in relief, feeling the tension drain away. He trusted Uzi implicitly, especially when it came to taking care of his sister. Rolling out of bed, he stretched and decided to start his day with a shower.

The warm water helped wash away the grogginess and lingering unease from his dreams. He had been through a lot lately, and it was time to shake off the shadows of his past. Feeling somewhat refreshed, he dressed in comfortable clothes and headed to the kitchen to whip up breakfast. He figured he'd make something for Uzi and Cyn when they got back.

As he rummaged through the pantry and the fridge, he made sure to steer clear of anything with a mushy texture. Beans and scallops were out of the question. He settled on making breakfast burritos with eggs, cheese, and vegetables.

Engrossed in his task, N didn’t notice the subtle chill in the room. When he turned to grab a spatula, he nearly jumped out of his skin. Standing in the middle of the kitchen was Nori, Uzi's mother, looking all translucent and ethereal.

"Biscuits!" N yelped, dropping the spatula. Swearing wasn’t his thing, but this situation definitely warranted an exception.

Nori raised an eyebrow, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Biscuits? That's a new one."

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "You scared the living daylights out of me! What are you doing here? I thought you were just a figment of my imagination."

Nori’s expression softened. "I'm here because you need me to be, N. Whether I'm real or not doesn’t matter as much as what you need to talk about."

N leaned against the counter, trying to process the situation. "So, what do we need to talk about?"

Nori floated closer, her presence both eerie and comforting. "I missed a lot of my daughter’s life. I’d like to hear about some of the things I missed. For instance, tell me about your first date with Uzi."

N blinked, taken aback. "Our first date?"

Nori nodded, looking genuinely curious. "Yes. What was it like?"

N smiled, recalling the memory. "It was... interesting. We went to a restaurant. Uzi was so excited and nervous at the same time. We sat down and ordered, and I made it clear to the waiter that I didn't want pickles. When the food arrived, there were pickles on my plate anyway. I tried to just pick them off, but Uzi wasn't having it. She yelled at the staff for me, made sure they knew they messed up."

Nori's eyes sparkled with amusement. "That sounds like her. She's always been protective of the people she cares about, she gets it from me."

N chuckled, continuing the story. "Then I accidentally spilled my glass of wine all over the table. I freaked out, thinking it was going to be the end of the night. But Uzi, she just smiled and helped me clean it up. She calmed me down, reminded me that accidents happen. She said it wasn't a big deal and that we should just enjoy our time together."

Nori's smile widened. "She's good for you. Sounds like she really cares."

"Yeah, she does," N agreed. "After the restaurant, we went back to her dorm. She offered me my first time of marijuana. I was hesitant, but she said it would help me relax. And, well, I trusted her."

Nori raised an eyebrow, her tone becoming more motherly. "Your first hit, huh? Not sure how I should feel about my daughter smoking kush, but on the other hand it's exactly what I did in college. And then what happened?"
