N and Uzi walked side by side down the narrow, dimly lit corridor leading to Uzi's dorm. Fluffy, the fluffy little gray kitty, nestled comfortably in N's arms. He had promised Cyn he'd take care of the little furball, and he intended to keep that promise, no matter how much Fluffy clawed on his shirts.

As they approached Uzi's door, N glanced at her, trying to gauge her mood. She had been unusually quiet during the walk back. He attributed it to exhaustion from the day's events, but there was a tension in the air that made him uneasy.

Uzi fumbled with her keys, finally managing to unlock the door. They stepped inside to find Sam and Doll sprawled on the couch, their study materials scattered across the coffee table. It was clear that studying had taken a backseat to other activities. Sam's beanie was on his head wrong, and Doll's hair was a tangled mess.

"Hey guys," Sam said, looking up with a grin. "You missed quite the lecture today. Dr. Harrington went off on another one of his tangents about quantum entanglement and how it relates to everyday life. And also his divorce, apparently."

"Yeah, and then there was that pop quiz," Doll added, rolling her eyes. "It was brutal."

N nodded, trying to focus on their words, but his attention kept drifting to Uzi. She had dropped her bag on the floor and was staring at the wall, lost in thought. He gently placed Fluffy on the couch, where the cat promptly began exploring the cushions.

"Thanks for the update," N said, forcing a smile. "We'll catch up on the material later."

Uzi snapped out of her trance and gave Sam and Doll a faint smile. "Yeah, thanks, guys. We're just going to head to bed now. It's been a long day."

Sam raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. "Alright, take care. And N, don't forget about that group project meeting tomorrow."

"I won't," N assured him. He took Fluffy in his arms again and followed Uzi to her room.

Once inside, Uzi shut the door behind them and leaned against it, exhaling slowly. N placed Fluffy on the bed and turned to face her. "Are you okay, Uzi? You seem... off."

She shrugged, not meeting his eyes. "I'm fine. Just tired, I guess."

N knew there was more to it, but he decided not to push her. Instead, he reached out and gently took her hand. "Come on, let's get some rest."

They crawled into bed, and N wrapped his arms around her, hoping to provide some comfort. Uzi snuggled into him, but he could feel the tension in her body. Just as he started to relax, Uzi suddenly shoved him away.

"Do you always have to hold me so goddamn tight?" she snapped, her eyes flashing with annoyance.

N blinked, taken aback. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize..."

She rolled her eyes and turned her back to him. "Just give me some freakin' space, dude."

His non-existent self-esteem took a hit, but he gave her the space she wanted, lying there in silence. Moments later, she turned back, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, N. I didn't mean to snap at you."

He reached out hesitantly, brushing a tear from her cheek. "It's okay, Uzi. I understand."

"But it's not, I was being such a bitch," she leaned into his touch, her mood softening again. "I love you, N. Don't ever doubt that."

"I love you too," he whispered, but the confusion lingered. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, something she wasn't telling him.

As the night went on, Uzi's mood swung from affectionate to irritable. One moment she was clinging to him, whispering sweet nothings, and the next she was pushing him away, complaining about the smallest things. N did his best to navigate the emotional minefield, but it left him feeling drained and confused.
