Uzi was lounging in her dorm, perhaps engrossed in a book or blaring some Nightcore really loudly, when the knock came at the door. The familiar, deliberate knock that signaled her father's presence. With a sigh, she rose to answer it.
Khan stood outside, looking as imposing as ever. "Uzi, I thought we could spend some time together. No boyfriends allowed."
Uzi arched an eyebrow, skepticism clear on her face. "You want to spend time with me? Since when?"
Khan shrugged, a forced casualness in his posture. "Thought we could bond. How about fishing?"
Uzi's nose wrinkled in distaste. "Fishing? Really? You know I'm not into that."
Khan waved off her concerns. "It's not about what you like. It's about spending time together."
A thought crossed Uzi's mind, and a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "You know who would love to bond with you? N."
Khan's face darkened immediately. "Absolutely not. That boy is a bad influence. Disrespectful."
Uzi crossed her arms, her voice firm. "Dad, you can't judge N based on some weird assumptions. You need to give him a chance."
Khan scoffed, listing off the same half-baked reasons he'd given Alice. "Moving his hand under the table, avoiding eye contact... He's disrespectful."
Uzi rolled her eyes. "Dad, that's not evidence. That's you jumping to conclusions."
Khan looked skeptical, but Uzi knew exactly what would sway him. "You know, N loves doors. Absolutely adores them. Thinks they're the pinnacle of human invention."
Khan's eyes lit up at the mention of doors, a strange admiration he had carried since childhood. "Door connoisseur, you say?"
Uzi nodded, seizing the opportunity. "Yes, doors. You take N fishing, and I promise, he'll love it. Just... maybe don't mention the door thing right away."
Khan hesitated, clearly torn. "Who names their child after a letter?"
Uzi chuckled, shaking her head. "N is just a nickname, Dad. His full name is Nathaniel."
Khan seemed to mull it over, the prospect of spending time with N battling against his prejudices. Finally, with a resigned sigh, he nodded. "Fine. I'll give this Nathaniel a chance. But I'm not promising anything."
Uzi smiled, satisfied. "Trust me, Dad. You'll have a great time."

N's dorm was filled with the sound of Cyn's laughter as they played a game together. When his phone buzzed with Uzi's name on the screen, he excused himself to answer it, leaving a disappointed Cyn to her own devices for a moment.
"Hey, Uzi," N greeted, a smile forming on his face at the sound of her voice.
"Hey, N," Uzi replied, her tone a mix of excitement and concern. "Listen, my dad wants to go fishing with you."
N's smile faltered. "Fishing? Uh, why?"
"It's a bonding thing, apparently," Uzi explained. "Look, I know it's weird, but he's trying to connect. Kinda. Can you give it a shot?"
N hesitated, running through the reasons why this was a terrible idea. "Uzi, your dad doesn't exactly like me. Plus, I'm supposed to be watching Cyn. And I haven't gone fishing since I was six."
Uzi sighed on the other end of the line. "Okay, first, fishing was his idea, not mine. Second, I can watch Cyn. She likes me, remember? And third, why haven't you gone fishing in so long?"
