Jimin wasn't very pleased by the fact that he was sitting in the back seat, but he for some reason couldn't bring himself to ask beomseok to let him sit ahead, so he just sat behind.
After the silence was too loud in the car, Jimin decided to speak. "So uhm, y'all are officially together now?" He asks.
Yoongi looks at Beomseok and Beomseok was looking back at him. They hadn't really asked each other out.
Yoongi speaks, "not yet" beomseok nods.
After a big pause beomseok speaks,
"I really like you hyung" he says, cheeks turning red.
Yoongi blushes inevitably, but doesn't say a word, he steals a glance and forces himself to stop smiling.
Jimin who was witnessing it all, regretted asking it in the first place. In no way he wanted their confessions to take place in front of him.
Yoongi stops the car in front of beomseok's apartment. Beomseok looks at Yoongi for a good long moment before leaning in to peck his cheek.
It took Yoongi by surprise.
Jimin bit his lips, a lump forming in his throat.
"Uh Jimin, wait here, I'll just be right back" Yoongi said getting out of the car behind beomseok.
Jimin's eyes followed Yoongi. He frowned when he saw them talking something right outside. He couldn't hear them but he kept looking.
He frowns when they stop talking and finds Yoongi turning to look at him. He quickly avoids the gaze and distracts himself.
The next moment his eyes fall on them, he witnesses them kissing so deeply.
His breath suddenly paces and chest rising faster. He felt a dull ache in his heart.
He shouldn't have gone with them to begin with.
Jimin gets out of the car, interrupting their kiss, Yoongi pulls away. He mumbles a soft bye before leaving.
Beomseok looks at how Jimin goes to sit ahead, next to Yoongi.
When Yoongi drove out of beomseok's area Jimin spoke, "congratulations" Yoongi looks at him.
"You finally found someone you actually care about" Jimin says.
Yoongi looks surprised, "how do you know?" Jimin shrugs, "I know you Yoongi, well enough now"
Yoongi nods, a small smile appearing on his face.
Jimin wants to say so much about that, but he chooses to stay silent instead.
It was silent in the car until Yoongi spoke, "you weren't coming" he glances at the younger.
"I felt bad for cancelling, didn't know you already had plans" Jimin said.
Yoongi turns to look at him, "you and me was the only plan tonight Jimin" he says.
Jimin's breath hitches. 'you and me was the only plan tonight' that sounded so nice to Jimin's ears.
"well, that's exactly why I showed up, hoping you would love having me over, that it'd surprise you" he says
"I always love having you over and yes it did surprise me, I was happy you came" Yoongi said.
"Doesn't sound very real, seems like I got in the middle of your date" he says.
"No way, he came over himself, it wasn't planned" he licks his lips, "I was hoping you'd come" he smiles, "thankyou for showing up despite being busy Jiminie"
Jimin's heart was twirling, Yoongi was so cute when he said that.
"I'll be honest, I came for aunty's food, more than to play with you"
"Whatever, I get to see you, that's more important" Yoongi says.
"What?" Jimin seems confused, "why is that important?"
"Ofcourse it is, you've always been important to me, I feel happy when I see you" Yoongi says, stopping the car at their go to icecream place.
Yoongi was pretty serious when he said that, only for Jimin to ignore it. Yoongi felt bad that, these were the small confessions, he always made them, but Jimin never noticed. He probably never will. It felt like a signal to go ahead with Beomseok.
"Are we really having icecream right now?" Jimin says, surprised.
"What do you take me for? Ofcourse we're having icecream" he says.
Jimin can see how Yoongi goes a little quite when he ignores what the elder said to him. Ofcourse Jimin heard it, he chose to ignore it. He didn't want to be hopeful, it hurt.
Yoongi goes ahead and orders two, one for him and one for Jimin.
They've been coming here so often that even the guy selling those knows their orders, only this time Yoongi goes for mint chocolate instead of chocolate.
"Hyung?" Jimin frowns, "mint chocolate??"
Yoongi smiles awkwardly, "beomseok likes it so I'm going to try this" he says.
"NO WAY HYUNG" Jimin turns to look at the guy, cancelling the mint chocolate and ordering chocolate instead, "I will not let you ruin your pallette, please!!"
Yoongi chuckles, "Jimin-ah, I wanted to try"
"Not with me, I can't bear to watch you suffer like that" he says.
"Stop your dramatic ass" Yoongi rolls his eyes, "fine I'll just try with him then"
"You're such a loser in love hyung ugh" Jimin says, "can't believe you were about to change what you like, what you prefer, who you are because of some random person you met recently"
"Okay, enough now, don't be sooooo dramatic, there's no harm in trying things out" Yoongi says.
"Sure whatever but please be the Yoongi that I know when you're with me, I do not wish to see you change"
Yoongi chuckles, he loved Jimin's dramatic ass.
They took a stroll around the sidewalks of the road while they finish their icecream.
"You know, I thought you replaced me" Jimin spoke, out of nowhere.
"Huh?" Yoongi frowns.
"Earlier today, when I saw you with him"
Yoongi immediately thinks about how Jimin had caught them earlier in his room. He felt embarrassed suddenly, thinking about it.
But he was still confused about what Jimin meant.
"I thought you replaced me with him for our game night" Jimin says.
Yoongi processes it, then realises, "you see Jimin, it's our game night, it's always going to be our game night, why would I replace you?" Yoongi says.
Jimin hated how he felt so nice about Yoongi's words. It was the kind of reassurance he always seeked from Yoongi and he hated how he always got it. It made him feel more for the elder.
It makes him think that 'does he like me' but then the scenes from earlier, him kissing boemseok flashes in front of his eyes. Yoongi really likes boemseok, Jimin shouldn't forget that. All the reassurance Yoongi gives him is out of their friendship and nothing more.
