As soon as I got home that day, I lay still on my bed with the parchment clutched in my hand. I had tried several times to figure out what the riddle said, but this time no thoughts travelled into my brain when I most needed them.
Martha is at my house, she told the Bully group that she has football practice.
" do they seriously believe that you have football practice ?" I said laughing.
" yup ... I'm surprised they do really... They clearly do not know me " Martha said enthusiastically.
I stand up and walk to my desk, sit down in the swivel chair, and turn on the computer.
" what you doing ?" Martha asked questionably.
I turned to face her with a annoyed face " history Homework ... Due tomorrow"
I turn back and wait for Microsoft word to load " 250 word essay on Romans ... What's the point ?!" I said annoyed.
" don't you want to fix the riddle ?... I'll help with the homework then we can figure out the riddle " she said smiling with her bright blue eyes gazing towards me." okay okay ... So what do you know about Romans ?!" I said .
An hour had past and we finished the essay. It was dreadful. We sat on my white butterfly sheet bed staring at the faded words on the burnt parchment.
" where did you find this anyways ?" I said curiously.
" The bully gang stole it from somewhere and I wanted to be In Charge of it so I could show you " she said her blonde hair glistening against the light. I groaned, furious that we couldn't figure out the riddle, I was getting impatient to find out the truth.
24 minutes had past and we finally figured out the first line, our eyes tired from squinting and a headache approaching from concentration.
The first line read: ' Open the door leading to your right of the forbidden house ' .
The adventure was just about to begin.
