HEY GULLIES HERE'S THE SECOND CHAPTER.
HAPPY READING!I'm sitting in the front seat of a luxurious car, with the guy who had just saved me, Him, beside me. He had offered to drop me off, and I had accepted, my mind still reeling from the terrifying incident. I was lost in my thoughts, replaying the events over and over again, when a calm voice pulled me back to reality.
"Where should I drop you?" he asked.
"Starlight Hotel," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Umm, okay. Fasten your seatbelt."
I fumbled with the seatbelt, but my hand throbbed with pain from where one of the thugs had gripped it tightly. He noticed the red mark on my wrist.
"Let me help you," he offered, his voice gentle but firm.
"Umm, okay," I murmured, grateful but slightly embarrassed.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over to secure mine. As he did, I felt his warm breath on my shoulder, and I couldn't help but notice how close he was. His white shirt, with folded sleeves the first two buttons undone, revealed a glimpse of his broad chest. He looked incredibly handsome, and I found myself staring at his face. Suddenly, he returned to his seat and resumed driving, snapping me out of my trance.
I turned my attention to the city outside the window, taking in the familiar sights of Mumbai. It felt good to be home, despite the rocky start. After some time, we reached the Starlight Hotel. Not wanting to disturb my family so late at night, I had decided to stay here and check in with them in the morning.
I stepped out of the car, turning to him. "Thank you for helping me," I said sincerely.
"Take care," he replied, his voice soft yet commanding.
I nodded and walked into the hotel, where the receptionist handed me a key to my room. A few minutes later, the staff brought my luggage. I locked the door behind me and collapsed onto the bed, my mind racing with thoughts of the night's events and the mysterious man who had come to my rescue.
"Ananya, you forgot to ask his name!" I groaned, burying my head in my hands. "Oh God!"
But then I thought, at least I had thanked him. If fate had brought us together once, maybe it would happen again. Maybe I could thank him properly with a gift or something. My subconscious mind teased me.
"Umm, you're thinking a lot about him. What's the matter, girl? Are you in love?"
"Shut up," I muttered to myself. "What love? He just helped me. How can I fall in love with someone after the first meeting? I just want to thank him properly."
But even as I said the words, I couldn't deny the flutter in my chest when I thought about him. I sighed, rolling onto my back and staring at the ceiling. What a night it had been. Exhaustion finally claimed me, and as I drifted off to sleep, his face was the last thing I saw.
