HEY GULLIES. HERE'S THE 2ND CHAPTER OF THE DAY . HAPPY READING! ❤️
Third person pov-
The next morning, the sun filtered softly through the curtains as Ananya prepared for her coffee date with Kartik. She chose a simple yet elegant outfit, her mind racing with anticipation and nervous excitement. Kartik had been on her mind ever since the party, and the thought of spending time with him filled her with a sense of eagerness she hadn't felt in a long time.
Meanwhile, Kartik was also preparing, though his thoughts were clouded by the sight of Ananya with Sid the previous day. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and unease, despite not knowing the full context of their interaction. Determined to put his best foot forward, he chose a casual yet stylish ensemble and headed to pick up Ananya.
As Kartik's car pulled up in front of Ananya's house, she took a deep breath and stepped outside. Kartik got out of the car, walking around to open the door for her. Their eyes met, and for a moment, everything else faded away.
"Good morning, Ananya," Kartik greeted with a warm smile.
"Good morning, Kartik," Ananya replied, her nerves easing slightly at his friendly demeanor.
They drove to a quaint café by the seaside, the conversation flowing easily between them. Kartik talked about his work, his family, and his love for literature. Ananya shared stories about her time abroad and her passion for writing. The more they talked, the more they realized how much they had in common.
As they sipped their coffee, Kartik noticed a small bruise on Ananya's wrist, a remnant from the night he had saved her.
"Does it still hurt?" Kartik asked softly, gesturing to her wrist.
Ananya glanced down and smiled faintly. "Not as much anymore. Thanks to you."
Kartik's eyes softened. "I'm just glad I was there."
The conversation turned more personal as the morning wore on. They shared their dreams, their fears, and their hopes for the future. There was an undeniable connection between them, a chemistry that neither could ignore.
After a couple of hours, they decided to take a walk along the beach. The waves crashed gently against the shore, creating a serene backdrop for their conversation. Kartik couldn't help but steal glances at Ananya, captivated by her grace and intelligence. Finally, he asked, "Do you like Sid, or do you have feelings for him?"
Ananya saw him, noting his seriousness. She gave him a questioning look and replied, "No, Kartik, I don't have any kind of feelings for him like I have for y—" Kartik raised his eyebrows, but she stopped mid-sentence, realizing what she was about to confess. She quickly asked, "Why are you asking this question?"
Kartik sighed, "I saw you with Sid yesterday when you messaged me, so I thought that something might be brewing between you two."
Ananya explained the whole story, how she had been stranded and Sid had offered her a ride. Kartik took a deep breath of relief, but still felt a pang of jealousy that their plans had been canceled because of his dearest college friend Sid. Kartik apologized for misunderstanding the situation.
Ananya smiled, "It's okay, Kartik. It's good that you asked me this, otherwise this misunderstanding would have always remained in your mind."
Everything sorted, Kartik felt happy that she had no feelings for Sid. He couldn't quite understand why he felt so elated and jealous after seeing Ananya and Sid together, but he knew his feelings for her were growing stronger.
When it was time to leave, Kartik drove Ananya back home. As they pulled up in front of her house, he turned to her, a hint of reluctance in his eyes.
"I had a really great time today," Kartik said earnestly.
"Me too," Ananya replied with a smile. "Thank you for the coffee and the wonderful conversation."
Kartik hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "Would you like to do this again sometime?"
Ananya's smile widened. "I'd love that."
Kartik watched as Ananya walked to her door, her figure illuminated by the warm evening light. As she disappeared inside, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and anticipation for their next meeting.
However, the image of Ananya with Sid lingered in his mind. The jealousy he felt was unfamiliar and unsettling. He knew he had no right to feel that way, but the thought of someone else being close to her gnawed at him.
That night, as Kartik lay in bed, he couldn't shake off the feeling of insecurity. He replayed the moments from their date in his mind, analyzing every detail. He realized that he had to trust Ananya and give their budding relationship a chance to grow.
Meanwhile, Ananya lay in her own bed, her thoughts consumed by Kartik. She had felt a spark with him, something she hadn't experienced in a long time. But the memory of Sid's unexpected company and Kartik's misunderstanding lingered in her mind.
Both of them fell asleep with thoughts of each other, their hearts yearning for what could be. The path ahead was uncertain, but one thing was clear: their journey was only just beginning.
